Staff are very friendly and bend over backwards to please.
The rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable.
The food is nice and the variety and choice is vast.
Entertainment is ok.
We enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend, I'm shocked it's only a 2 star hotel it deserves to be a 3 star easy, but I was informed because they don't do room service this is why it isn't a 3 star.
Had a sea view room and loved it!

We stayed for 2 nights at the Claremont for on the 5th and 6th of August 2013
On arrival all seemed fine apart from being very disappointed with the car parking arrangements.
Very stressful trying to park and wasted over an hour trying to get on the front of the hotel car park as the overflow car park behind didn't seem safe or very convinient for us.

The lift was out of service which we was aware of before we booked but didn't realise how much of a problem it would be and wouldn't recomend staying to anyone if the lift isn't operating.

On getting up the numerous stairs and along very long narrow corridors the room was located, very small TV in room.
Had to sit up close to see it properly.
The room was jus average but clean apart from the fans being very grubby and dusty, no iron, hair dryer or full length mirror in the room.
The windows only opened about 2" and it was very hot even though we had 2 fans going night and day.

Very small pool, no lockers, very tiny communal changing room.
Only used it the one time as it wasn't big enough to have a decent swim, ok for kids to splash about in.

The hotel only had one public toilet and that was in the basement (even more stairs ) groan.

They advertised Bingo on the TV near reception on the nights we stayed and advised to get seats as they were not to be reserved and so we sat in the entertainment room from 7pm until 9pm where they had a kids club going on (which i wasn't aware would be happening) as the kids club was in the basement i never thought it would be in an adult entertainment area.

Bingo time camme and went and no bingo and so we went to enquire only to be told it was the winter entertainement being advertised and it had not been changed for the summer.
Wasted all that time sat through something we didn't want to endure.
Also the entertainment never started on time the both nights we stayed.

The breakfast though was fantastic and also the evening meal.
You were allocated a table on arrival and so it was wonderful to know just where you were going each day, the staff in the dining room were very attentive and very quick to serve us both for breakfast and evening meal.
I can only say the food was as good as any top restaurant it could not be faulted.
Apart from the "toast" if it had seen a toaster for more than 30 seconds it would surprise
me as it was just like warm bread.

Needs to give more info to residents on arrival or have info in the rooms.
Our view from our room was of walls and rubbish that had been thrown out i think it was dismal.

Room Tip: Try to get a sea view if possible as our room just had a view of walls and rubbish.

i booked midweek break 21st june 2013 costing £438 for my husband and i and payed £100 deposit. on 25th july i received an email saying my holiday had been reduced but only for new bookings. i thought this was rubbing salt in the wounds.the difference in price was £120 pound. i spoke to the manager which was really nice but could not re- emburse me fully. we have been to this hotel many times and have been satisfied but i will never book in advance again. i was so upset we spent most of the time out of the hotel.

Room Tip: sea view are more roomy and pleasant

Just got back from a break at the Claremont. It's an old building and the decor is slightly faded but the rooms are clean and comfy, we had a lovely sea view. The food was great and plentiful and the service was really good. There was a top notch comedian on each night and a singer. The only downside was the parking, I had to park a few streets away, the hotel take your keys so they can move your car but they're well organised and insured. Also, the lift wasn't working which was a bit of a pain but they did make sure we were aware so can't complain

Went to this hotel last weekend, there were 4 of us and we had a brilliant weekend we stopped Friday and Saturday night dinner bed and breakfast, my brother and sister in law had booked and paid for us as a 60th birthday present for myself and my husband, I can honestly say the hotel was fabulous the staff very friendly the food was brilliant and the location was excellent just a walk into blackpool for all the shops and bars. We will be going back to this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room lovely, although we were on the 3rd floor and the bathroom was only small.
