We stayed in The Kenley for 2 nights over the August Bank Holiday and after having read some of the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor decided that it was well worth booking. All the rave reviews were not lying!
After arriving reasonably early at about 10am we expected to be told that our room was not ready however we were delighted to be told that it was available for us. After a complimentary cup of tea and biscuits we went up to our room. We booked one of the two luxury rooms as the price was still very good when compared to others.
The room was excellent. Everything we needed was there; a delicious bed, tea/coffee making facilities and plenty of tea/coffee/treats.
The thing with this hotel is that the owners seem to have gotten everything right. The most important things to me are cleanliness and the feeling that you aren't being milked for everything you're worth whilst you're on holiday. The owners of The Kenley have got these two things spot on. Everywhere is absolutely spotless; the rooms, the common areas and everywhere in between. Nothing really seemed like it was too much trouble. Breakfast was included in the price and it was as tasty as any other I have eaten. I could overhear people ordering exactly what they wanted and they received exactly that. I asked for a cup of tea each night to sit outside with and it was bought to me in a matter of seconds. The prices of the bar in the lounge area were very cheap, again, it looks like they are less bothered about making lots of money and more concerned about remaining popular.
If I had to pick one thing to improve on it would be the wi-fi which is free but did not have a very strong signal in my room on the second floor so I did struggle to use my phone in the room. A small gripe and one that could easily be improved upon.
Overall in terms of the quality and value I would rank this as the best hotel I've ever stayed in and I would recommend it to everyone. It is located centrally and so isn' far away from the main attractions as well as a tram stop being at the end of the road.
