This is the third time we have stayed at The Strand and as normal they never let us down. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is gorgeous and plenty of it, but you will always get people that moan as we found when we stayed, not sure what they wanted. Their was a good choice at both breakfast and dinner. The location is fantastic as it is just a short walk to the Tower and all the shops or you can get a Tram or Bus from outside. We will definately be going back again.

We stayed with my wife and 92 year old father in law for a long weekend over a bank holiday. Nothing was too much trouble, the service at reception, bar, and breakfast was excellent.

The hotel has been refurbished in a very modern style, and is well situated between the Hilton and the Imperial on the Northshore seafront. There are excellent sea views from the lovely restaurant and breakfast room.

My Father in law had a disabled room with a walk in shower right next to the lift, which was perfect for him. Both our rooms had tea and coffee, flat screen TV, modern fittings, decent bathrooms, and were nicely furnished.

There is limited car parking at the hotel, but plenty of free street parking within a few yards walk.

Room Tip: The sea views are great.

We held 2 events at this hotel last week and stayed in the executive room first was our wedding reception which was a small intimate gathering, we asked for a small casual 3 course meal to help celebrate with family and friends simple food and sociable setting is what we asked for! what we were greeted with was beyond our wildest expectations. I my Husband and all 27 of our guests from babies to granny’s were greeted on the red carpet and escorted to the room, we had a meal worthy of 5 stars everything homemade from homemade bread and soup Yorkshire puddings to desert empty plates all round! The staff were amazing attention to every little detail, from waiting staff offering extra gravy to learning the names of my guests and making them feel so welcome, the view out of the panoramic windows as the sun set over the sea were amazing and the staff continued with amazing hospitality until the last guests left. Myself and my husband stayed in the executive room greeted with a bottle of champagne and a congratulations card from the staff the room was immaculate modern and fully kitted out with hairdryer tea and coffee making facilities (all with their own cupboard or shelf so they weren’t on view, adding to the modern feel of the room) The bath room had bath with shower all the complimentary soaps and shampoos and luxury large towels. Then walking into the room with its large windows and sea view blew us away waking up to the view of the prom and again receiving fab hospitality from the staff. We were offered breakfast in bed as we were newly weds! And the staff remembered our names my bridesmaid’s names and my mothers name the next morning while having a friendly chat in the downstairs bar. The staff and this hotel have a breathtaking wow factor when you walk in the door and take care of every little detail with no problem at all they are professional friendly accommodating and will bend over backwards to ensure your stay and or function is one to remember for all the right reasons!
We then had a function on the Sunday for our daughters christening we had a buffet for 80+ guests and again it exceeded our expectations the food was amazing homemade and to a high standard the most amazing deserts we’ve ever seen on a buffet! Jayne and her team ensured the buffet table always look inviting that the room was clean and comfortable stood chatting with guests ensuring all their needs were met and were fabulous hosts! We will be having all our family functions here and will be booking in all our family when they come to visit we had happy guests two smoothly run functions and the most amazing food all thanks to a fabulous family team run by friendly management and cannot thank them enough!!

Room Tip: Go for the executive room and go for a sea view!

I was at the hotel as part of a wedding party, then three days later for a christening. The staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them. the hotel itself was very clean and modern, it is family and pet friendly. The chef made a special meal for my daughter as she is a fussy eater. The food itself was fantastic, all fresh and prepared in house, even the bread was home made.
They made us welcome and were extememly organized, the barman remembered everybody's drinks so we didn't have to keep asking. Even the live band were amazing.
I can't recommend this place enough, the staff and service certainly did not reflect the price, they could easilly charge double and you'd be happy with them.

Room 211 - Very small, had to shuffle sideways around the beds. Walls filthy dirty, no telephone, no tea & coffee making no pillow cases, no seat to sit at dressing table, plugs on opposite side of room, hole in wall, window so dirty, couldn't see our view - brick wall, window wouldn't close, sliding bathroom door, not straight, had to use two hands to move it, and it squeaked as you did this, shelf in above sink, loose & sloping, towel rail loose, just about to come off wall, tap loose, no bulb in one lamp. Had to go reception to ask for pillow cases, a "housekeeper" brought 2 new pillows - I thought he was another guest as he was dressed in cut off denim jeans, black vest top, covered with tattoos. Room for generally filthy. We were shown to room by a young man, so they knew which room we were in. When I went down to reception to ask for pillowcases, he rang my sons room, as we had no phone. He came up, and said, "oh there has been a mistake, you shouldn't have been in this room, so we were moved to room 102, which was a little better, but still very small and cramped. Bed bases are chipboard, knocked my ankle many times on jutting out wood bases, mattress very uncomfortable, paint on curtains, very dusty and dirty, carpet filthy, kettle filthy, chipped & dirty mugs, plugs should have been checked last October, bare wires on lamp, & not working, frayed cushions on bed, seal on window needs redoing, as was letting wind in, only one set of towels, coat hangers missing from wardrobe. Upon booking this hotel, we were offered a parking space at the front of the hotel, as we were travelling with our disable parents, upon arrival, we could not have this, as "Mr Rudd" had this space, but he never took it. We were then offered a space in the garage, but then a lady arrived & said no we could not have it, as it was their fire escape. Web site makes this hotel look very swish, the lounge, restaurant are nice but the rooms and cleanliness of this hotel leave alot to be desired. How it ever won "hotel of the year, 2010" in Blackpool I don't know. Never ever again, would we go back. The Barcelo next door, looked fabulous, & if its good enough for David Cameron, then I think we will stay there. We came up for a family christening, & we would never ever go back. Ruined weekend. Also a dog friendly hotel, not great - a dog barking at 6am!! Not very relaxing.
