Having just returned from our stay at The Strand Hotel, we felt we had to write this review. We had decided to hold our wedding reception at The Strand not knowing much about the place but we are both really glad that we chose The Strand. The staff were always really polite and helpful and couldn't do enough to help us with our plans. The rooms were of an excellent standard with comfy beds and luxurious en suite facilities. The food served at the reception was fantastic and far surpassed any expectations we had. We would definitely recommend The Strand to anyone who is looking for a hotel in Blackpool and we feel confident that we will be returning there in the future. 10 out of 10!!!!

Room Tip: The executive rooms are fantastic.

Went to the Strand for a few days. Booked in and they asked for money upfront. Insisted we saw the room first before we paid. The room looked very nice and very clean but on further inspection once we had paid I may add we found out that the toilet door would not close and the windows would not open. The meals were OK but the entertainment was dire. In fact dire did not even come close. I would not recommend this hotel. Also it said in their booklet you could get lunches any times during the day. After returning from a day to The Trafford Centre I asked if I could have a sandwich for lunch as I am diabetic and needed to eat something. Was told there was nothing, the chef was away.....I finished up finding a packet of crisps in my room... not very impressed. Like I said I would not recommend this hotel there are many more to chose from.

Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us at The Strand Hotel, Blackpool. We aim to please each and every customer and are always disappointed on the rare occasion we receive a complaint. The service from our team is one of the attributes we pride ourselves on the most and any issues you had would have been resolved instantly had we known of them. No maintenance issues were reported at any time during your stay and the bathroom door closes perfectly fine and both windows now open, although admittedly one was a little stiff.

Secondly paying on arrival, or authorising payment, has been common practice at the hotel for several years now and is the case in the majority of hotels worldwide. In my personal opinion I would be surprised if I didn't get asked for payment.

Also from talking to some of the other guests, the reason you found the entertainment to be "dire" on one evening is because you attempted to heckle “the turn” and you came on the receiving end of his jokes.

Finally we are sorry the chef was away from the kitchen when you required lunch after 2pm. My uncle is diabetic and he always travels prepared, he certainly does not travel 50 miles until he reaches his destination, especially if he finds the food to be only "OK" when he gets there. Furthermore, ordering bar snacks would have taken a further 10 minutes to prepare and from first-hand experience my uncle would not have waited even this long to eat if it was an emergency.

It is a shame you didn't go through the issues with us at time of departure or at any other time during your stay as we were under the impression that, after 2 days of being obnoxious to the staff, you turned on each other, had a row and left the following morning.

Having come here with all the family we were not disappointed. The service from the staff is second to none. The food choice isexcellent with fantastic portions and even better quality. The rooms are bang up to date and extremely comfortable. For us this was the best hotel we've stayed in in Blackpool and wouldn't hesitate recomending to anyone. Kepp up the excellent work guys.

We have just returned from a Monday to Friday holiday at this hotel. 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 four year old. We had adjoining rooms which gave us as adults privacy but allowed the children to enter at any time, perfect.
The meals were fantastic. Plenty choice to suit everyone, starter such as prawn cocktail, pate, soup (on first night was celery and stilton), mains - there was a different roast every night as well as a fish dish, 3 types of salad and loads of others, desserts such as cheesecake, cheese and biscuits, eton mess, rhubarb crumble etc. We ate in every night expect the day we were at the pleasure beach as we stayed there until late.
The rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff warm and friendly. The only downside to our holiday was that our rooms were not ready when we arrived at around 2pm but I suppose that is pretty early.
There was a singer on in the bar each evening but we preferred the other lounge where the children could play pool. To be honest there wasn't a lot going on at night but enough for us. If you are looking for entertainment there is plenty around the hotel.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, thank you for such an enjoyable stay :o)

Room Tip: If you are a family of 5 of more ask for adjoining rooms

We visited Blackpool as a family for the first time in many years and were very pleased we chose to stay at the Strand .It is located between The Imperial and Hilton to the North of the Promenade. You get off at Wilton Parade on the Tram.

This is a great location because you can walk to town centre, Tower, North and Centre Pier but not get stuck in the hubub of the Centre and south of the town.

Staff are very friendly and helpful but not fawning. Special mention for waiting staff: Marta and Michael who are efficient, pleasant and fun, and also Karl.

We enjoyed the half board which provided plenty of choice but was not goint to shock anyone. It is well cooked, there is plenty(especially at breakfast) and was a success with a mixed age group. Bar prices are very competitive if choice a wee bit limited(Francis could do with wasjing his waistcoat too).

The rooms and overall decor could do with a wee bit of TLC but it is clean, attractive and very utilitarian. Rooms could be a bit warm at nights.

The entertainment every evening was fine, and some were actually good! Free wi fi was also a boon.

The refurbishment of Blackpool itself is creeping towards the hotel but it is none the worse for still not having the new frontage. In fact we liked the beach during some very good weather and also the walks to the North along the front.
