Crewes Original Hotel

Reviewed 7 April 2014 via mobile

I have to start this review by saying that after some of the reviews I have been reading about this hotel I find a bit to harsh and mean to say the least.

My girlfriend and I have stayed at the Crewe's Original Hotel on and off for the last three years when we have our long weekend Breaks in Blackpool, and I have to say that EVERY time we have called or just turned up bar once we have always got a room with a beautiful sea view and the rooms have always been clean and tidy.

The Manageress is a lovely woman that is friendly and likes to chat to the guest's and the cleaners I have met on the stairs are all friendly also.

The hotel it's self is clean and inviting and the bar and outside area is chilled out and relaxing. Yes it could do with a little bit or modernising but all the same it is one of the best in Blackpool for its fare pricing. It is by far the best of location to the town and tower and nightlife as well as the arcades and things.

It is well signed that it is a smoking hotel and I really can't believe some of the other reviewer on here that state otherwise because we noticed it straight away as we are smoker's and this hotel clearly advertises the fact.

So to sum up The Crewe's Original Hotel...

Its friendly and well run and staffed.
Its clean and inviting.
Its well placed for all that Blackpool has to offer.
And it is a smoking hotel and is clearly signed so.

So if your like us and head to Blackpool for some fun and want to stay in a hotel that's fare and laid back then check the Crewe's out.

Matt

My friend & I arrived in Blackpool, went to the hotel which we had previously booked, when we arrived there it was a very bad experience. We went to the Crewe's Original Hotel on the chance that they had any rooms, we were very lucky, they had one room left. We had a very warm welcome, the manager Deb was very nice, the room was lovely & big, everything we needed was there. We had nothing to complain about, we would definitely stay there again.

My family, friends and I (which includes two toddlers at 3 years old) had booked to stay at The Crewes Original Hotel on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd November 2013. However, on checking my credit card statement (for something unrelated), I noticed a refund from the hotel, dated 15th November 2013. Since we did not cancel our reservation, I was rather puzzled by the transaction. Having tried to contact the hotel several times via telephone to no avail we are assuming the hotel has decided to close for the season. Needless to see we are incredibly unhappy and totally disgusted by the service from this hotel because to date we have received no communication from them with regards to our booking being cancelled. To cancel a booking a week before arrival without telling someone is totally disgraceful especially when there are young children involved. Thankfully we have managed to track this before travelling to Blackpool as we cannot begin to imagine the hassle we would endure arriving in Blackpool trying to find a place to stay with two very young children! A little bit of advice Crewes Original, brush up on your customer service skills otherwise you may end up with no customers to serve!

Booked in here off the cuff after a bad experience in another hotel. Wasn't expecting a great deal as it was advertised as quite a budget hotel. However we were pleasantly surprised. The host was very welcoming and told us all we needed to know. The room was clean and spacious and we had the best shower we had ever had! There are no frills attached to this accommodation but it was a great nights sleep, very well located and overall a good experience. Will definitely stay here again.

Haven't stayed over night in Blackpool for a few years although never failed to have a good time there, so got up one morning and thought "why not" ! It was the first hotel we came across so took a chance and we weren't disappointed ! Fantastic location, super sea views, clean rooms, superb value and friendly staff , what more could you want or need ? As you may have guessed will certainly return .

We have just returned from yet another relaxing weekend at the Crewes Original . This is our third visit in the last three months. On this occasion we had room 26 a bay fronted room with a great sea view. The room was spotlessly clean, as always, the bed was lovely and comfortable .

It is always a pleasure to return to this hotel as you always feel welcome and there is always a good atmosphere - it is almost home from home. The staff are welcoming , friendly and helpful;. The hotel is situated in a great location with buses and trams stopping outside the front door .

The Crewes is a great place to stop and the room rates are very reasonable. We have stayed in a few of the rooms during our visits and have never been disappointed as they have all been kept to the same high standard.

We are looking forward to going back in November to see the illuminations and meet up with everyone at the Crewes.. A great big thank you to Debbie and the staff for looking after us again.....see you in November. From two very happy customers, Anne & Nick
