We visited the Ruskin for the Cabaret Weekend 19th to 21st April. As usual we had a good time, excellent food and entertainment. As we have come to expect the ambiance was very good and the staff were all very friendly and efficient. As with any hotel or service it must be judged on value for money. The Ruskin comes out tops every time. Over the weekend the hotel was full, many of the guests were regulars. In addition there were two weddings, one had the ceremony and reception the other the reception. For a hotel to be so busy at this time of the year bears testimony to the reputation of The Ruskin. In the past I have read reviews that some of the bedrooms are on the small side. When the Ruskin and similar buildings were constructed in the centre of Blackpool rooms were generally smaller than today. In spite of this all rooms are en suite, they are comfortable and clean. What more can anyone want. When I have been at The Ruskin in the past they have hosted conferences and similar events. The hotel is very close to the town's shopping centre and 5 minutes walk to the promenade.

Years since I have stayed in Blackpool. Prior experiences of hen/stag nights (a couple I was on) put me off. I no longer want to share a hotel with gangs of same sex party animals, bit long in the tooth now but I still enjoy a good time. A brill time was had at the Ruskin Hotel.
The room was not 'top notch' but it was very clean, comfortable and had all that was required for a relaxing stay. Tea & coffee tray, hair dryer, plenty of hot water and quiet at bed time.
The food could not be faulted, I cannot think when I have had better and never for what I paid.
It was excellent. The staff were all friendly, helpful and courteous.
I enjoyed the cabaret evenings very much and even managed to get in the mood for a bit of a dance.
I am looking forward to staying again at the Ruskin Hotel.

we stopped at the ruskin hotel on th 8th april 2013 for a 4 night special and we had a family room
the room was a bit of a letdown, curtains and nets a bit drab, handles on the windows broken, but the beds were clean and tidy but the bathroom was cold and drab, breakfast and dinner was just
great i cannot fault the service and food it was first class and polite waitresses but a grumpy wine male waiter. but i must say i have stopped in a lot of hotels in blackpool and this one was the best yet i will certainly be back at this one.

Room Tip: if you want a good hotel you wont go far wrong at the ruskin

Stayed at the Ruskin hotel last week whilst working away.

Nice freindly receptionist and other staff members around the hotel made a pleasant first impression.

The hotel was clean and tidy.

Rooms were rather small but clean so that was a bonus.

I didn't have an evening meal at the hotel, although did enjoy breakfast. There was plenty to choose from.

Would I say here again? Yeah sure why not.

7/10.

The Ruskin has just provided a superb Sunday Lunch for a party of 50

The meal started with a home made vegetable soup made from real vegetables and not a powder out of a packet.

Having served what proved to be a very ample portion of Roast Beef and Yorkshire puddings for the main course the waiting staff came round a second time to make sure that if anyone wanted more it was available. What was god to see was that gravy for the main course was not in short supply. Our table of 8 people received 4 large gravy boats between us.

Dessert was a choice of home made trifle, an excellent cheeseboard or ice cream.

The serving staff were all very pleasant and attended to our every need. The management of the Ruskin should be very proud of their staff.

Before we left we booked our next social gathering for Xmas 2013.
