“Best for Blackpool”
Reviewed 13 September 2012

We (couple) stayed here for 4 nights in early september 2012. We booked a superior room for our stay and overall enjoyed it (but just a few fussy niggles). On arrival we got a lovely welcome from Paul - Nothing is too much trouble for this guy! When chatting to him about what our plans were, we were immediately offered the use of the hotel tumble dryer if our clothes got wet.The free wifi was a bonus and goes to show how well Paul looked after us, he immediately noticed my laptop for work and told us the password and offered to safe-keep my laptop through the day whilst we were out. On our first night we had left our window open through the day and our room was freezing. We asked paul about the heating and he brought a portable heater to our room for the night! Wonderful!

We were booked in for bed and breakfast in our price. The breakfast we couldn't fault, masses of choice and served very quickly. The prices for the evening meals were unbeatable - and there was no compromise on the quality of the food. 2 courses and a drink for £20, for some of the best food we have eaten in a long time was fantastic and we ate in the hotel every night. The menu was small with 3 choices of different main meals every night but perfectly sufficient for us. The time we spent here there was something different every night. Beautifully cooked.

As with many others we couldnt fault the cleanliness of this place. When we came into our room everything was spotlessly clean.
The lounge and bar areas downstairs offer comfortable and tastfully decorated space to relax.

One of our main niggles was the size of the room - although we got the superior perks such as mineral water, slippers, shower gel, coffee etc, we feel the name did not reflect the size of the room, however having seen the size of other rooms, it seems that this is present throughout the hotel.

Although room cleaning was carried out on a daily basis, none of our bedding was changed throughout our stay. Having cut myself through the day, during sleep I had marked one of our pillows slightly. I purposely left the pillow on top of the bed for the cleaners attention to change - however on coming back to the room after breakfast, I still had a bloody pillow. ( Though i must note that we did not raise this with the owners at the time due to having more than sufficient pillows for the rest of the stay.)

Finally, Our last niggle was the temprature of the room. Having thought the cold temperature the first night was due to me leaving the window open, it turned out that we were very cold for the majority of our stay in the room, this seems to be from the bathroom vents, standing at the bathroom door we could feel the wind coming through into the room. Again, having spoken with some other guests and been in their rooms, theirs also seemed very cold compared to the rest of the building.

Overall, despite a few niggles we have enjoyed our stay. Paul is a highly professional guy and will go out of his way to help you. A relaxed atmosphere - a lovely break.

Stayed here for 2 nights, great hotel. Very clean and tidy, good breakfast, cant complain. The room initially looked small but for the little time you spend in your room it was fine, as long as its clean then would rather this that it be large and dirty. Nice location, about 5 minute walk to pleasure beach and I liked staying on south beach, a bit less caotic than central.

I have just got back from two very comfortable and satisfying days at the Corona Hotel in blackpool.myself my wife and my Brother and sister in law and my two nephews arrived at about 1pm.on friday afternoon and were greeted by Paul who is an absolute gentleman and a perfect host. Our rooms were ready to occupy so no waiting around.and in no time we were settled in.Once again when we went down to get our bearings Paul turned up trumps and was on hand to give us the lowdown on the area etc.The whole point of our weekend was to attend the Northern Soul allnighter at the winter gardens once again Paul proved to be knowledgeable and offered us some excellent information. The hotel itself is a credit to Paul and his staff it is spotlessly clean and adequately equipped the food is tiptop.I would recommend the Corona to anyone looking for a comfortable and very well run Hotel.

Arrived at midday to find our rooms cleaned and ready. We had a king size bed in a large room with lots of extras - free choccies and bottled water, lovely Elemis shower gel, soap and shampoo, hospitality tray with biscuits and a spotlessly clean ensuite bathroom. The proprietors Paul and Richard were brilliant - nothing was too much trouble. Paul makes fantastic cocktails - very potent and delicious !! The food was all freshly cooked , tasty and very good value.Breakfast is included and was excellent, plenty of choice including full English. We had a wonderful stay at The Corona and would stay there everytime. Thanks Paul - I will say hello to A.S next time I see her !!!!

Cant say any more then what as already been said and it is all true.Arrived early due to good car journey. Shown to our room stright away no waiting till 14-00hrs. Even asked if we wanted a cup of tea befor we even checked in.meals where great value, never had so much tea and toast on top of our big breakfast. We did not stay there for our evening meal but looked at menu and always 4 choices on every courese and again good value.Room was average size but for me the shower was outstanding. Plenty of running hot water and i have stayed in some hotels where it is just a trickle.Again little things like plenty of milk and tea and coffee in your room not just the 2 tea bags you get in most places.Paul was a mine of information about Blackpool. Told us where to go for the best meals if you did not want to eat in the hotel.Paul could you please give your staff serving us our breakfast a thank you so polite and very quick with out being pushy.I hate feeling i have to eat up and go and for young people there where brill Cleared away quickly without making you feel youhad to rush away.Paul thank you for making our short stay in your hotel one we wont ever forget.
