I took my 8 year old grandson here for the second time, he had so much fun he didnt want to leave the hotel.
The food was excellent with plenty of choice, the staff attentive, rooms very comfortable kept clean and tidy. My grandson played in the outdoor pool while I drank a cocktail.
Thee hotel has a very personal touch and the staff remembered us from our last visit.
Highly recommended from me and when visiting blackpool I will only staf at the Doric.
Thanks for a great holiday.

My boyfriend and i stayed here from fri - Mon at the start of July 2014

We arrived at 9.30am but were not allowed to check in until 2pm so we had to go wander about until then, This is not a good hotel for people like myself who like to have aloof about the shops, it is about a 30 min walk from the tower.

The room was very dated and the wallpaper was coming off the wall, Cant complain about the cleanliness, Although i did notice a white mark on the bedding, valance sheet on the Friday and it was still there on the Monday so i don't think that had been changed.

The bar staff were very friendly nicky and helen i think her name was were really nice and friendly always smiled, the staff were all nice.

Myself and my boyfriend are in our 20's we felt like this hotel was more suited for families and elderly people. Although it was a lovely hotel i would not go back and stay in this hotel only because i prefer a hotel in the central area around all the shops, But if you don't mind the walk i would highly recommend going to this hotel because of its entertainment, friendly staff and cleanliness

My husband and myself took our grandson for a midweek break to this fantastic hotel -21-25july, every thing about this hotel is truly fantastic . Food , cleanliness , staff , location . The management have everything just perfect. Carl the children's entertainer is wonderful , as is James the headwaiter. I would have given this hotel 100 0/0 but for one member of staffs attitude to myself but most importantly my grandson . The member of staff is the middle aged ,, waitress /barmaid , with long hair and glasses and a miserable face , she shouted very nastily at my grandson Ashe asked me for 20 p whilst she was serving me she also shouted at him when he asked for decorations on his fruit cocktail drink and told him they did not decorate these drinks , inspite of the fact that he had one of the'cocktails' every night of our stay , beautifully decorated by other bar staff , basically this woman accused a little boy of being a liar , which he certainly is NOT!! . Please management of the Doric get this horrible women to treat your young guests like the rest of your lovely fantastic staff , my question is if she shouts at child guests when parents/guardians are present how does she treat them when the adults are not around. ?

Room Tip: All rooms good but watch the attitude of the middle aged barmaid with glasses and tied back hair to...

We booked the Doric Hotel for a 3 night stay from the 18th of July, having scoured review sites and Trip Advisor, we were quite taken with the warmth of the reviews towards The Doric and reserved through a booking site. Nearer the time we decided we would like to add an evening meal to our stay. Called the hotel and Sarah (Reception) was fantastic. She really helped us out and changed our booking to the weekend break offer which meant we were able to have evening meal every night for a better rate....just goes to show...booking sites are not always best!
We arrived around 2.15pm, there were loads and loads of people leaving on buses etc but we were directed to the Bar area to wait until our allocated time of 2.30pm. When this came we went back up and were given our room key.
Our room was modern and very clean, very comfortable and spacious. Little toiletries included and a generous tea/coffee and snack selection. We had a fantastic 5 course meal every night, with loads of choices, with plentiful food, extra vegetables on the table, and all served piping hot to the table from the staff in the restaurant. Delicious!
Special mention to Restaurant manager James who created warmth and welcoming atmosphere, and couldn't be nicer to all! Also the other James on the Sunday who was very pleasant.
Our 9 year old was offered a kids menu (which had vegetables and potatoes and fresh fruit etc as options...very refreshing to see!) or was able to eat from the main menu, fantastic, she loved this!
Breakfast was speedy, warm and very tasty.Helping ourselves to cereals and juices, with the cooked option brought to us along with lots of warm toast and coffee or tea
The Hotel has a great childrens entertainment programme, our daughter had amazing fun making balloon models, having glitter tattoos done, games, Karaoke you name it, and we enjoyed the Bingo and cabaret whilst checking on her every now and then.
Bar prices were very reasonable for a hotel...with the cocktails coming in at just under £4!
All staff were polite and courteous, as mentioned, James and Sarah were great along with George who seemed to be able to turn his hand to everything!
Everyone we spoke to praised the hotel very highly.
The games room was good too with full table air hockey and car racing , plus a pool table and traditional puggy machines all for a small individual gmae fee.
We didn't get time to sit out at the outdoor pool area or patio, but could see from the games room and it looked really lovely!
Two very small gripes, we could hear the tables from the entertainment are ( which is the restaurant in the morning) being scraped along the table back into position) but we were in bed quite sharp on the Friday as we were tired and were only one floor up..we didnt hear it the other two nights, and the TV in the Bar area was showing sex and really gratuitous violence, but we asked staff to turn it over and they had clearly not noticed what was on and appeared embarrassed and apologised!
That really is the only thing though!
Indoor Pool was great and jacuzzi a treat! What a fabulous bonus...this area also well maintained and clean.
I cannot praise the hotel highly enough, it's also got a fabulous position on the north promenade, out of all of the noise of the main area, but a short tram ride away, with the tram stop directly outside the hotel.
We will definetely be back with our daughter, and on our own hopefully!
Well done and keep up all of the hard work :)
Anyone who picks fault is clearly very very very picky...you won't find better in Blackpool.

Read good reviews on the Doric and have to say did agree with them indeed. It is more for the older and family group which was great for us with 2 young wanes. Now it wasn't wile fancy more of an older decor but it was really clean. Restaurant staff were really friendly especially James and the wee blonde hair girl whose name I didn't get but she was really lovely and pleasant and she wasn't there that long but you wouldn't think it, very professional. Entertainment really fun Krazy Karl hilarious wanes loved it and so did we. Not too near pleasure beach and not too far just ideal to be out of the way from all the mayhem. Loved where Doric was situated right opposite beach and tram stop would definitely stay again but with seaview next time and food lovely , in all good value for money and really welcoming restaurant staff. Cleaning staff lovely too.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view
