“Friendly Hotel”
Reviewed 28 October 2011

We had a fantastic time at this Hotel. The owners and staff were really friendly and very welcoming! The room was small but the beds were very comfortable, lovely hot water and very clean.
The food was excellent and the waiters were fantastic, especially Nigel, who made our little boy laugh!
The entertainment was very good and the prices were very reasonable!

it is not advisable to go by negative reports on here, try for yourself, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
We will definitely be back again!
Thank you Kensington for an enjoyable stay!

We booked on the internet & When we arrived I thought we had made a mistake, the approach & entrance were not the best I had seen, but once inside we were greeted by very friendly staff.
We had a sea view with a great panoramic view of the lights up & down the front. The room was clean & comfortable There was a full nights entertainment consisted of a couple of games of bingo & two artists both of a good calibre. The evening meals & breakfasts were very good quality & plentiful. ( I am a large guy & like my food.) Nigel one of the waiters is a real gem always joking & like all the staff very friendly. What this hotel lacks in looks is more than made up for with its staff & general running. I would certainly use it again.

Room Tip: Try room 23 second floor. All round sea & lights view.

hotel on the oldside decor wise but was clean n friendly, we were on 2nd floor which felt more like 3rd as loads of stairs,my husband n i went with our grandson and stayed only 1night, my only gripe is we had a 3quarter bed not double and my grandson had metal bunks which he choose to sleep in the top bunk and as they were metal each time he moved in bed they made a hell of a clang they were very ricketty, so nither of us had a peacefull nights sleep.

We stayed 3 nights at The Kensington Hotel. The staff at the Hotel were very polite and helpful, the shower in the room was broken but when mentioned it was fixed straight away. Although the decor is slightly dated the room has everything you could want. Nigel the waiter is very funny and brightens up breakfast time. The management were very friendly and chatty. The entertainment in Mikes Cabaret Bar was brilliant. Drinks are reasonably priced compared to other hotels. Would stay here again that is for sure.
