This was our first stay at the North Ocean Hotel. This establishment has hallmarks of quality, but with a modest price tag.

The highlights for us were: superb hospitality, knowledgeable staff, tram line at the front of hotel, clean & tidy decor, sea views from the breakfast/dining area (and some rooms), recently refurbished (ongoing refurbishments cause no disruptions whatsoever), very good breakfast selection, extremely capable chef, excellent dinners (the steak rossini, syrup pudding, and fudge cake are all exceptional - with quality like this there is no need to venture outside for evening meals), and a complimentary bottle of wine at dinner for TripAdvisor bookings (apparently until further notice). There is nothing to dislike. This hotel is in a far superior league to many others in Blackpool. Needless to say, we will be returning and have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms tend to sell out quickly and thus need to be booked well in advance. Basic doubles ar...

Many thanks for a wonderful review form fabulous guests! It was great to chat with you each day and we promise to keep up the good work and go that extra mile for each and every guest at all times. The complimentary bottle of wine is available to any guest booking with us direct and taking the evening meal for two. It's also available until further notice. We love to impress and when we can't impress any more then we'll think of something new to surprise with! Look forward to seeing you again soon! Wayne

We have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing 2 night break at this fabulous little hotel. This is not your typical Blackpool style hotel.Wayne and Chris are perfect in every way, taking the time to do everything they can to make us feel welcome. These guys have worked so hard to get this hotel to what we can only describe as first class! We recommend the 2 course evening meal,Don't go anywhere else in Blackpool for dinner, you won't find anywhere as good and huge portions, great value.Food is excellent and so is the bottle of wine included in the price! Our suite overlooking the sea was top quality, lovely bed linen and the balcony is a great place to unwind before dinner.Don't bother trawling the net for hotels in Blackpool, just book this one,you won't be disappointed. Thanks Wayne & Chris. See you soon..

Room Tip: The seaview suite above balcony is very private

So I get the impression that you enjoyed your stay at the hotel! What an advert for us, thank you so much we truly appreciate it. There are of course other people at the hotel who work even harder than Chris and myself but guests rarely get to meet them, it's a team effort and we like to think that we all give 120%. Finally I would just like to say that you both were wonderful happy guests and we all look forward to seeing you here at the hotel again soon. Wayne

Just returned from our third stay at the North Ocean, have stopped in both sea view and superior rooms both good sized comfortable and very clean. Wayne and his staff are brilliant and very obliging. Had both breakfast and evening meals in restaurant which were cooked excellently .Would not hesitate to RECOMEND this hotel.

Room Tip: Sea view suites have great views

A warm welcome was given by Wayne on my arrival and an informative explanation on when breakfast and dinner eating times were too. I was also shown to my room by one of his colleagues which was a nice touch too. The room was a single occupancy one and was clean and tidy that had been recently refurbished too. In room on the wall remote TV with freeview channels to watch with complementary tea and coffee facilities. I do believe rooms are accessed by stairs only. Although I did not use it there is a sizeable seating area outside that is above the dining and bar area at the front of the hotel if you wish to sit outside and enjoy the nice sea view. Breakfast served between 8am-10am offering a nice range of cereals and fruit juices. Toast making was self service. I only wanted and had a cooked breakfast on both mornings I stayed and these were very substantial, tasty and enjoyable so I am unsure what other cooked breakfast options there are. Menu that was on the table did describe an attractive range of evening dinner meals and desserts. The hotel overlooks the sea on the Promenade with stunning views on sunny days like what was had whilst I stayed there. It is located approximately 15 minutes walk north of central Blackpool with regular trams and buses to get there too. Overall a nice and well looked after place to stay with hospitably staff that is located where it gives you peace and quiet from the busy central part of Blackpool but still close enough to go there and quickly. I would readily stay here again because of the aforementioned reasons as it represented good value for my money.

Room Tip: A room facing the front to enjoy the sea views.

Many thanks for a lovely review Suzanne, it was a pleasure having you both as guests. I'm so glad you mentioned there was plenty of free parking very close to the hotel. This is something that many guests worry about before booking but as you now know, it's really not a problem if our car park is full. It's nice to see so many guests leaving with a smile on their face and you were no exception. See you again soon!

Nice welcome given by Wayne, on our arrival. Good room....but not a 'suite', as described, by him. Lovely outlook, to sea and nice verandah, where we sat early evening. Excellent breakfast. Limited parking spaces, but we were lucky to park on front of the hotel.

Room Tip: Sea view recommended.

Many thanks for taking the time to do a review. Our suites overlook the promenade and are described in full on our website with photos which were only taken a few short weeks ago. This information is for all to see before making a booking. As we all know, many hotels post fabulous air brushed pictures of one hotel room and on arrival you get given a totally different room, ours however are honest and ''what you see is what you get''. Our suites at this time of year are only £59 per night including breakfast which is without a doubt excellent value for money. I feel your low score for value is somewhat low in itself but different people have different opinions and expectations which we fully accept. I don't know your identity which of course would help in my reply but we hope to see you again at the hotel in the future where we will try our utmost to impress you even more as we make improvements to the hotel and what we offer.

We stayed at the North Ocean Hotel on 04/06/2014 and we couldn't fault it one bit! The staff were lovely and more than welcoming, with nothing being too much trouble. We were upgraded to a suite which was a nice surprise. The breakfast was really good, and everything was cooked to order. Chris, Dave and Wayne were wonderful hosts and we will defiantly be returning in the future. We highly recommend this hotel to stay in. Thanks guys! Joe & Alison

Many thanks Joe and Alison for taking the time to write a great review! On checkin, subject to availability and providing we get a good vibe from a guest of course, we will always try to upgrade if at all possible, although this is becoming increasingly difficult as time goes by and we get busier. Glad you enjoyed your one day/night shopping trip to Blackpool. Look forward to seeing you again soon! We love our job!!
