Recent coach trip to Blackpool, staying at Libertys Hotel Blackpool.
It was an ideal location just past the north pier in Blackpool,
very handy for all the shops pubs and transport ie, trams buses etc.
The hotel had a lot steps every where you wanted to go within the hotel
it was either up or down some steps.
There was a lift but it was at the other end of the hotel, so if your room was
near that was ok, but if you had a room at the other end it was stairs.
Not very good for anybody with walking difficulty.
The food and service was very good nice meals....

Room Tip: Try and get a room near the lift....

Booked with late rooms for a Sunday night stay. We arrived at 4.15 in the afternoon and were given the room key promptly. The room was quite large and modern with 3 windows, unfortunately as they were all filthy on the outside there was no sea view and a long handle on a feather duster would have removed the cobwebs. We were told entertainment was on so we stayed in the hotel, the drinks were pricey and the bar closed at 11 even though many people were still in there. We did not use the dining room at night as we had eaten in the town.we went in for breakfast and had we're not acknowledged for ages then told to sit where we had been the night before and had to explain it was the first time we had been in there. I had to ask for toast made with brown bread after white had been put in front of me and then had to send the cooked breakfast back as it was cold and served on a cold plate, not that there was much of it! The portions were tiny. I would have been gutted if I had paid the full price of £90 and think we still overpaid. They need to pay more attention to detail and customer service.

This hotel was average. But for the money I suppose you can't complain. Very good location. Near some good bars, shops and tram stops which was useful. Walking distance to the Tower.

Good points: Clean hotel, good bar, friendly staff, loved the games room (with pool and darts), good view of the beach from the room, decent TVs with good signal, decent bath/shower, large wardrobe with plenty of hangers, plenty of drawers for clothes, food tasted nice, decent breakfast, hand the keys in before you go out so no risk of losing key, nightly entertainment (although I’d say it was more for the older generation, kettle in the room, hair dryer, hand soap provided, plenty of towels.

Bad Points: Bed and pillows firm/uncomfy, loud and creaky floor boards, games room boiling hot and stuffy (air con didn't work - no windows), food was ordered and on your plate within a minute which makes me question how fresh it is/how many microwaves are in the kitchen, waiters didn't clear tables well between courses so found table was cluttered with old cutlery/plates, tables were small and felt squashed together, when we asked for extra water/tea it took a while to come...

In all it wasn't a bad hotel and was cheap so can't complain too much. Enjoyable weekend and will definitely come to Blackpool again.

Trams: excellent
Southport: fabby
Blackpool: very clean
If you can cope with a 2 star hotel then you will be fine. For me the magic of blackpool lights and all that Blackppol offers is just amazing. Use the trams to get around or be prepared to walk miles. Loved it all will deffo go back

We stayed here on a shearings 5day break and had a very enjoyable time. Food was plentiful and well cooked with good choices available. We upgraded to a superior room which was comfortable and clean in the main. We did however have to ask for the shower curtain to be changed as it was mouldy. Housekeeping responded immediately with full apologies and changed it straight away,I was still a .little disappointed that I needed to ask for something basic like that. Tap on bath was stiff but was seen to asap room was comfortable and warm..Staff were helpful and pleasant at times juggling two jobs at once.Entertainment was varied and better than I expected Plenty of seating available during entertainment.Reception area and stairs in that area needs refurbishing

Room Tip: Upgrade. Its cheap and worth it

Just returned from a Mon - Fri break at Libertys. We had a sea view room on the third floor which was clean and comfortable. The floorboards were very creaky but at least we didn't get any noise from above.

There was a bit of a problem with the plumbing. The toilet handle needed to be pumped a few times before it flushed and at certain times there was no hot water. Not enough of a hassle to complain, just something the hotel should perhaps look into.

I wasn't keen on the food but my partner thought it was okay. He chose the full breakfast every day while I had juice, toast and coffee which was alright but the juice was poor. Evening dinner was again edible apart from the Chef's Special (sweet and sour pork) on the Monday which my partner left. I chose the roast each day but I would have liked more fresh vegetables rather than frozen/tinned which was served. After dinner coffee was diabolical. Served from a thermos flask in the bar, once was enough.

The entertainment was fine but tended to cater for older people. We went out a couple of nights as bingo and quizzes are not our cup of tea.

Overall we had a decent stay as the hotel is ideally situated but not sure if we would stay there again because of the food.

Room Tip: Less noisy on 3rd floor but ask for a sea view

Just returned from our annual trip to Blackpool. Had a great time. Have been coming to Blackpool for many years and have stayed in some 'scabby joints' but Liberty's was definitely one of the better hotels we have stayed in. Went with Shearings on a Mon-Fri break. Our room was clean, nicely decorated etc. We could find no fault with it at all. We stayed in Room 119. Meals were good, menu quite varied. Fast service from the waiting staff in the dining room. All staff were friendly, very helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment on Tuesday & Thursday evenings, especially Thursday when Claire Louise was entertaining us. She was superb and had us all in stitches. As well as being a comedienne, she had an amazing voice, and her rendition of Tina Turner was amazing. Like many Blackpool hotels, there was only one small lift and many stairs. OK if you are mobile, but not so good if you are not. Be prepared for this and if your mobility is poor, ask for a room on the 1st floor. We will certainly consider coming back to Liberty's next year for our annual visit.

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms for people with mobility problems.
