Stayed in Rubens for a week and have to say that Ashley and Lara run an exellent hotel. We travelled to blackpool for a honeymoon and recieved a bottle of wine! I really don't think we could have went to a better hotel as Ashley and Lara were so welcoming and helpfull for the full lengh of our trip. The breakfast was exellent every morning and very filling. The rooms were spottless, cosy and really nice. The bar was nice and very well priced and and exellent pint! Rubens is a top little hotel with top owners and is in a great area which we felt was quiet and friendly as well as being located perfectly for the blackpool attractions, eateries( had some great recomandations from Ashley and Lara!) and train/bus stations. We could not rate Rubens any higher and would like to thank Lara and Ashley for a great week! Thank you!

Stayed here for two nights at late notice when my Wife and I visited on a business trip. The ladies got one of their Mothers in to welcome us as they were out that day (I think it cost them a Chinese meal though).
This Hotel is the new modern image Blackpool needs. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, hearty breakfast, modern well decorated throughout and helpful landladies. When all the reviews say clean they mean 'clean' and forget hard uncomfortable beds, they are a thing destined to be found only in the hotels not keeping up with the times. Absolutely no complaints, not even a small niggle. Oh and check the prices, very reasonable
They are knowledgeable about the area and will recommend restaurants and pubs. First evening they even went out a found a parking spot for us! It is close to everything whilst being in a quiet street.
Incidentally, try Wah Wah's it is superb.

We received a really friendly welcome, both Lara and Ashley were exceptionally helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The Hotel is very clean and tidy and the full English breakfast was both generous and well presented. Excellent value.

What can i say that has not been said already. Both Ashley and Lara are the perfect hosts. They really know how to make your stay very special. The rooms are Brilliant, spotless and clean,The bed was to die for, it was a real effort getting up in the morning, i just wanted to have a lay in.
The breakfast service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, and yes, they did remove the mushrooms for me.
When i return to blackpool in the future, i will definitely be booking my stay here, hopefully a little longer than my last visit

This was our first trip to Blackpool and I don't think we could have stayed at a better hotel. Ash (my new bestest friend) & Lara are fab girls, so welcoming. The rooms are spotless and the breakfasts were great, especially this mornings, black pudding brought in by special request. Nothing appears to be too much trouble for these two and when we go back to Blackpool we will definitely be staying at the Rubens again.

This is the second time we have stayed at Rubens. And we will be back! It's always clean and welcoming, Lara does a cracking breakfast. Convenient for all attractions yet never too noisy. The rooms are charming and come with their own friendly special guest (teddy). The bar is great to relax in after all the sea air. Ash and Lara recommend the best places to eat etc and you cannot beat that personal touch. Also very reasonable, We cannot recommend Rubens enough and look forward to visiting soon. (If you have time and the appetite visit AJ's just round the corner)
