“Paris ? not much french style here, more Les Miserables”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

First of al my mistake as i drove past this place and thought it would be nice for a few nights. Lesson always go in, the pictures on the web page are so misleading.

I would have checked out after the first day but to be honest just could not be bothered to trek cases across town again. The front desk there is one delightful blond lady who was very helpful on the Tuesday morning she could train the other ladies , the staff are rushed off their feet and do the bar reception and anything else going, it has a Faulty Towers feel about the whole place, Its dark really needs knocking down and starting again or at least a re paint. Walls are filthy and really sad state
My room looked ok when i first walked in and had a nice sea view. But when i went for a quick shower the water hit me in one hard stream there was no shower head on. i was soaked all over had to re dry my hair. When i went down to complain there was no apology just ill get that fixed .
And in fairness it was done when i got back a few hours later.

Next i noticed there where loads of Daddy long legs on the roof and on the table, I asked for the room to be sprayed.. Woman said it was the change of weather brings them in she would see what she can do , but she was busy. I told her that since i was not staying in the jungle the amount of wild life was not expectable . Some seven hours later i returned to be told she had been too busy to spray the room but had been in a looked at the room, the porter coming in would deal with it in half an hour. So i asked for the insect spray to do it myself , she declined and said the porter would do it. So i waited up and three quarter of an hour later he came and sprayed the room , with the cap off covering the bed in insect spray. There are still dead insects on the celling the cleaner has failed to clean up the insects .

Breakfast they lady seemed very confused when i said i was vegetarian , but it was adequate noisy and does not start till 8 30, so i guess no business person would stay here twice so need to cater for early risers..

With tourism struggling in Blackpool , this prime location with great views really needs to up its game it's just sad that a business can be so clueless. Far better to remove all what they thing is a French look get rid of the dusty cushions and tired bed spread and go a for a clean white look all over giving a hygienic modern look, if your going for french flare make sure you have the cleaning staff and budget to update it.

We stayed at the Parisienne while attending the Rebellion punk festival at the Winter Gardens. Needless to say, all we required was a cheap place to lay our heads, regardless of quality. We were surprised to find this place to not only be very cheap, but the staff were friendly, breakfast was included and it was only a 10 minute walk from the venue. The rooms were a bit rough around the edges, but clean. If you want to get further down the front then there is a tram stop right outside. Mr Bartholomew.

We stayed at this hotel for just one night and we felt that it was good value for money.Yes the rooms are basic but comfortable. It is in a good location to the centre of Blackpool and we walked there within 10 minutes.
The breakfast was reasonable with eat as much as you want cereals, toast, orange juice etc followed by a cooked breakfast.
The reception staff were very welcoming and answered all our questions. What I like most about this hotel is that you can take your dog so no doubt next time we will be visiting with our canine friend!.
I would also like to mention that it is one of the few hotels in Blackpool that you do not have to pay extra for car parking.
All in all we had a pleasant stay.

Hotel was just appalling! Majority of the rooms were disgusting, however the better ones are still not up to scratch. I was told by the deputy manager that there is no star rating for this hotel as all the rooms are different, but they still charge the same rate for all rooms. The decor is terrible! The showers over flow when used, toilets didn't flush and there was a constant toilet smell running through the hotel! The hotel was incorrectly advertised to us so just be careful. Very unprofessionally run.. When asked to speak to a manager he was never in on the day they said he was, almost as if he was avoiding us! Wouldn't stay here again if it was the last place on earth!

Dear Guest,

You obviously shared the same room as the complaint below. Everything was fine for the first 24 hours. You all had complimentary drinks of Friday night and enjoyed your selves. There was no mention of a complaint about your room. indeed no other room complained about their room.
The reason we have not gone for National Star Ratings is nothing to do with the rooms being different sizes. All rooms have the same furniture, the same bedding, 95% have the same wallpaper etc. It was only when your friends arrived for the one night on the Saturday and you saw that their room was bigger than yours then you started to complain about everything.
The hotel does look like the website as the Receptionist showed you.
You say that I was never in on the day the reception said I was. You were told I was on holiday for the weekend, so I knew nothing about this until yesterday when I read the notes about you.
So needless to say I was not ignoring you.

None of the other party in the group complained apart from the two of you in your room out of a party of 14, and the organiser said she had an amazing time!
I thought it only fair to tell our side of the story...

Yours truly,

General Manager

The staff at the hotel are lovely, very friendly and committed to making your stay pleasant. When we arrived we were the last to check in as we'd been on the pleasure beach for the day. Our first impressions as we drew up were disappointing as the outside of the building needs painting, the wood around the windows is peeling giving the building a scruffy appearance, and the building is grey which feels depressing. When we went in the entrance is much more appealing and we met a lovely receptionist who was very busy serving the bar and reception but was cheerful and helpful. Parking is first come first served so be aware of this otherwise you are looking for a parking space and will pay a minimum of 7.00 for 24hrs. My daughter and her partners room was on the second floor and spacious and pleasant although they had a bulge in their ceiling with a hole in it by the window but this didn't cause any problems. The room that i and my partner had was on the third floor and quite cramped and dingy it also had a strange smell to it but as the price for the night was reasonable at 50 pound for room and breakfast we thought no need to complain as we wouldn't be in it long. The bed was comfortable but had a blanket and throw cover/eiderdown on which is not to our personal taste but served its purpose. The room was very hot and even with the window open there was no air so it felt stuffy and uncomfortable a fan would of been pleasant just to ease the stuffiness but again we were only there for a night so this wasn't a problem. After a fab night out arrived back in the pouring rain to be met by a friendly helpful night porter which was very pleasant as very nice to see a friendly face when you come in. During the night we had to use the bathroom a couple of times and found that over the toilet and the sink the roof was leaking so had a very damp bathroom this is probably where the strange smell of the room came from. We did report it in the morning so this problem should now be sorted. Breakfast was lovely served by very friendly, helpful but busy staff who were the optimum of Northern hospitality. The décor of the bar and dining room was very nice and made the rooms seem quite airy and light. We enjoyed our stay as the staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly and deserve to be praised to the highest. The staff at this hotel work hard but stay friendly and cheerful.

Room Tip: Rooms at the top seem to be stuffier and smaller.

Dear Guests,

Thank you for your recent review on your stay with us at The Parisienne Hotel. I am so pleased you had a nice time with us and enjoyed the service provided by our staff.
We know the outside of the restaurant windows need painting, and actually we are doing it next week starting Monday, so the outside appearance should be much better.
I look forward to be able to welcome you back again in the future.

Kind regards,
