We visited the hotel 3 years ago and loved t so chose to go back for our wedding anniversary. We had a package with 3 course meal - mediocre to unpleasant in relation to the food and the choices. Chocolate tart dessert was so bitter it was I edible. ALSO main courses do not come with sides so these have to be ordered and paid for separate. The meal allowance off main menu was only £14 per head!
Rooms really hot with thermostat off and had a funny smell. Had to sleep with window open which meant we were woken by screaming kids in the pool the next day. Should be a able to turn down heat.room not cleaned until about 4 pm on our first full day and we had to wait in a friends room til it was done. Friends keys consistently failed to work despite reporting at reception. Breakfast nice but tables very close together. A little disappointing all told

We had booked one of the special spa days to celebrate my friends birthday. We were unable to check in until 3pm (which is fine as it is standard check in time). This just added to the rush as our treatments were booked for 4pm. We decided to eat in the Victory pub. Food was ok and came out pretty prompt.

We finally got to our rooms and the cleaners were still there. We were asked if we wanted the rooms vacuuming but we had to say no as we were in a rush to get changed to be down by the pool.

We used the pool facilities (albeit briefly) and these were fine. Outdoor pool was nice despite it being one of the coldest weekends of the year.

We went for our treatments at the Spa. I chose the massage and facial and I have to say it was the best massage ever. The girl who did mine was amazing and she gave me lots of good advice afterwards (without trying to sell me the products).

We had Dinner booked as part of our package. This is where it went downhill. The restaurant itself looks like an Italian restaurant in the 80's (plastic checked table cloths etc). I appreciate the staff are young but there was no front of house organising anybody. We were given the main menu but I asked our waitress could we order anything as we were on a dinner package and she realised her mistake and brought out another smaller menu. We had dirty wine glasses on our table (these were set as though they were for us) - by dirty I mean they had the previous peoples wine in the bottom still. Gross. I can't even bring myself to talk about the food. All of us ordered something different but it was all served with the same 'tomato and basil' sauce. I asked what the mains came with - nothing. So we ordered some chunky chips, parmesan salad and tomato and onion salad. the chips were basically McCain oven chips and the salads were so drab and served in cheap pyrex dishes (testament to the 80's theme I guess). the serving staff were absolutely dire.

Beds really comfy. small bathroom but perfectly adequate shower.

Breakfast........... they were queing out the door into reception. we had to wait half hour to be seated. when we were finally seated we had to ask for cutlery, then cups, then coffee, then tea then spoons..... you get my drift.

Basically, the hotel can only be likened to Fawlty Towers. Which is a shame as it has the makings of being a lovely hotel. The facilities are all there. Just needs a lot of investment in staff training and definitely a makeover of the restaurant

Drive into the place was magnificent and the hotel looked stunning. Reception staff were efficient and welcoming. Room was comfortable and there was plenty of tea and coffee. Usual items in the room. Restaurant was ok. Bit slow but staff were attentive. Meal was ok nothing special.
Breakfast however was a bit if a farce. There was a queue and the wait period was at least 20 minutes to get seated. The breakfast was nothing special. Queues for the toaster!!! Bacon was undercooked. Mushrooms and tomato were cold. Plates to put the food on was cold. Needs a rethink to make the experience more welcoming and the food more appetising. Plenty of food though which is a plus. Plenty of car parking spaces. Hotel sits inside the golf course so plenty of golfers milling around. Also there is a sports centre within the hotel complex used by outside persons. Got very crowded inside the reception area. I thought it was good value overall and I would use the place again .

we stayed at the Blackpool Herons Reach, as we had tickets for a show. Three rooms were booked, and we all were very pleased with the accommodation, the food, and also helpful staff. The weather was lovely and we were able to sit overlooking the golf course with our drinks. We ate in the leisure club and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food, the staff were helpful allowing us to all order together, but paid on each rom. The room was comfortable, and also clean. We noticed there was no biscuits on the tea/ coffee tray, we thought this unusual.

My wife and I stayed at Village Hotel Blackpool 31 May to 1 June 2015. It is in a lovely location next to the zoo and backing on to the golf course. The reception when we arrived was welcoming, polite and prompt with nothing seeming to much touble. As it was a weekend the hotel was very busy but not it did not feel overcrowded. The room we were allocated was spacious and exceptoinally clean however, the decor was very dark and you needed to put the lights on even in the daylight.

The Staff in all areas of the hotel were attentive and friendly particularly so in the Victory Pub.

The only gripe I have is that the breakfast is not that special. I had to wait for the servery to be replenished with eggs and other items on both mornings and the breakfast plates were not heated so your food soon went cold. I have to say what got me most annoyed were the toasting machines absolutely useless.

Both my wife and I would certainly stay here again.
