Trip to Blackpool for 40th Birthday weekend, booked The Glenroy, couldn't have had anywhere more friendly and welcoming, from the moment Pat and Mo said Hi to the moment they said Bye. Rooms clean and comfortable, coffee and tea very welcome, hearty breakfast to start your day with, whatever that day might hold. Bar well stocked and very good prices and measures fabulous. Hotel situated in the perfect location, close to beach and other amenities, would recommend Pat and Mo and their hospitality to anyone and everyone, but please leave room for us to book again. Thanks to both xx

The Glenroy is a good, no frills B&B. The Ritz it ain't, but it is clean, tidy and very welcoming. Pat and his mum were the best of hosts and nothing was too much for them - Pat even saved a street parking spot for us using his own car; above and beyond what I have ever experienced. If we ever go back to Blackpool (once it has got out of the 1960's) there is no doubt we stay there again. Recommended

We have stayed in many hotels in Blackpool ,[ even with a concierge, ] and the most friendliest and welcome place we have found has been The Glenroy. Pat and Maureen are the perfect hosts, lovely rooms, breakfast to die for and nothing is too much trouble. So much so we have met many friends there and kept in touch. So danchrisbenhannah unless there are TWO Glenroys , i think you have been to the wrong one x

Room Tip: as all rooms have been in the midst of revamp, with no disruption to customers, any room is good.

We stayed at the Hotel in July and had a great time from the minute we arrived until it was time to leave. Pat and Maureen are such lovely people and made us feel so welcome. Our room was very clean and modern and we were very impressed. Breakfast was great and set you up for the day. My Parents were also staying at the hotel and their room was also very clean, modern and spacious, their room was directly above the bar area and there was no noise....just the sound of laughter which everyone joined in with as Pat and Maureen were such fab hosts. We will return to the Hotel without doubt and would highly recommend it to anyone going to Blackpool.
Hope to see you both soon

There was no hot water when we took a shower ,no hair dryer , the room pokey and small ,we had to step on the bed to get to the other side of the room. We paid for a sea view and if you stuck your head on the glass and turned right you could not see it still. The bath room was small and dirty and the room freezing with no heating . The bar was directly underneath us and the resident alcholics were there from breakfast till midnight , at which point they became loud and abrasive after being served to many drinks by their host . If you want a nice relaxing weekend dont go to the glenroy, our room was directly over the bar and we gave up being in our room from all the noise, but if you want a cold shower and the company of some very drunk guests then this is the place for you , wish I had been warned I had the choice of many hotels and choose this one, but felt the photos and reviews were not true to life and terribly misleading .

Room Tip: dont pick room 4, it is directly over the bar so you wont get any sleep unless you are deaf with no hot water and it will cost you more for the sea view which is not there

Firstly I find it quite astounding that it takes this dusgruntled customer OVER 3 months to make a disgraceful and untrue review and not only that did not have the gumption to come and talk to me if their was a problem..... May I remind the customer perhaps he should go to specsavers when you look out of the bedroom window in the said room you CAN see the see if you look right ...perhaps he was looking the wrong way !! The bathrooms are cleaned by me personally and rest assured they are not dirty !! I do not call a room 14' by 14' a small pokey room and as it for being freezing it was the jubilee bank holiday weekend and I am certainly not having the central heating on in the middle of the Summer ... so please Mr.customer ???? Our hot water is on 24/7 and NEVER have we had a complaint about cold water ...so perhaps another swipe to TRY and find fault !!!! As a reputable hotelier I hold a 24 hour licence and am fully aware of whom and when should be served alcohol and I am disgusted that he has the front to call other guests who were enjoying themselves abrasive alcoholics .... my bar is open up until11.30pm when I call last orders and the bar is always closed by midnight ...so where the noise was coming from I am not sure ......Please note this customer went to bed at 9.00pm on the bank holiday weekend and I am sorry to disappoint him but I had a hotel of other customers who were enjoying the jubilee party spirit and having FUN !!!! The only mis-leading person is you sir ... you had NO problems on the first night of your stay asking for drinks at midnight when you came in and I was more than happy to serve you a night cap !!! I think the only misleading person is YOU and would probably recommend that you never return to Blackpool as it is clearly not the place for you .... may I suggest a holiday cottage in the western Isles of Scotland !!!!!! I am very ANGRY as this guest does not mention that not once did he come to me to say he had ANY probelms whatsoever !!! He also fails to mention that he took FULL advantage of the Jubilee party which was held on the bank holiday Monday where we provided FREE food and DRINK which he had NO hesitation in partaking in he also FAILS to say that he walked out of the hotel at 11.30pm after drinking heavily all day long and then proceeding to drive off in his car back to Yorkshire probably well over the LEGAL limit to drive !!!!!! .........If you wish to come to Blackpool and want to go to bed at 9.00pm then DONT come and I can assure you sir their are many less reputable establishments around which are far worse than my own.... It seems quite strange that 99% of ALL of our other reviews on this site and sites such as Laterooms.com differ greatly to this ONE review !!! This industry certainly does not need arrogant and rude people such as you and I hope that this VERY Wrong review is completely ignored and hopefully removed !!
