I found this on Laterooms for £65 (family room - two adults, two kids). The reviews were good and the kids really wanted a weekend in Blackpool, so although I wasn't expecting much at that price I decided to risk it. Didn't look much from the front, to be honest, but the owners were very welcoming and had a good attitude. They'd done an excellent job on the room - groovy wallpaper, nice new furnishings and a bunkbed for the kids. The location was good too and there was a cheap carpark nearby which seemed safe enough. Breakfast was very much above average - the hlghlight for me was the huge slab of perfectly cooked black pudding! I'd go back.

I went with my mum and my son, we had a great weekend at the Valdene Hotel, Laura & Simon made us feel very welcome the second we arrived. The rooms were great although the stairs are not great for the elderly, breakfast was lovely and cooked to order. There was a lovely atmosphere in the bar in the evening and Simon & Laura would join their guests for drinks and chat. Really lovely people, and I would recommend the Valdene to anyone thinking of spending time in Blackpool. We are thinking of coming back in August and the Valdene would be my first choice.

Would recommend this hotel to anybody! Me and my friend both early twenties have just spent four nights here and haven't got one thing to complain about (apart from coming home) Simon and Laura who own the hotel are very friendly and welcoming and the hotel is kept clean all the time. It's close to the main strip and very close to the beach. The breakfast we received every morning was delicious and the beds we had were So comfy. Because the weather was so nice the room got a little warm but Simon and Laura gave us a fan straight away! Overall a brilliant hotel :)

A warm and welcoming family run hotel, both Simon and Laura went out of their way to ensure a great stay for our family. The room was clean and well equipped and extremely comfortable, and the added advantage of an x-box in the room was great for the kids.
Breakfast was well cooked and plenty of it.
Location was great, handy for buses, trams and trains, also just a short walk to central Blackpool.
Would highly recommend to other families and couples, Looking forward to our next visit

We visited the Valdene for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend with our daughter and close friends. From the moment we met owners Simon and Laura we felt immediately at home . The rooms were clean and comfortable and everything we needed was available .Lovely friendly atmosphere in bar and at breakfast which was beautifully cooked to order by Simon..Enjoyed ourselves that much we've booked to go back for the New Year. ( hope you keep bar stocked up with Strongbow and don't let Lorraine drink it all haha !! ). See you all soon love James , Louise and Abigail xx
