Great location within a very short walk of Leicester train station and close to the city centre. Staff on arrival were friendly and although 'in-training' and quite a slow check-in the male member of staff was polite and helpful.
Hotel was clean and well presented... the downside for me the noise from the works taking place which started with drilling at 6.30am in the morning- sorry not acceptable time of the day for noise works to be carried out. Would return if the works are completed.

This is the second time I have stayed at this particular Premier Inn, it is perfect as it is right next to the station. This means you can just check in, dump your bags and relax. Amazing value too at only £39 for the Friday night.

There is building work going on so our first impression of the hotel was a bit daunting but once we found our way into the carpark and then the hotel things looked better. The rooms were fine and were quiet, the only thing I would say about them is that they need to be better aired. On re-entering the room in the morning it felt a bit stale.

In addition, the building work began early - before 6.30. It was muted but quite noticeable, especially what I think might have been a cement mixer. However, in fairness to the hotel the noise did not wake my husband and unfortunately I was already awake. But it did mean I couldn't get back to sleep.

Because of the building work and fewer than usual customers, the hotel was exceptionally taking breakfast orders.

Here's where our dissatisfaction arose. When we went down to breakfast we were kept waiting to be seated for several minutes - apparently (as she told us) the waitress was around the corner dancing. She seated us and took our drink order. We expected to give our breakfast order when she brought the drinks, however she walked away immediately.

We then waited and waited and waited. At least three other tables came in, were seated, had their breakfast orders taken and, in some cases, got their food and we were still waiting. And, no we weren't able to catch anyone's eye.

I was on the verge of getting up to ask someone when my husband banged the table with his menu and a waiter appeared almost immediately - I want to stress that this was not the same person that we had previously dealt with.

The food was fine and the rest of the staff pleasant, but the incident spoiled an otherwise pleasant stay.

The waitress who had ignored us in the restaurant was on check out and did not ask about our stay.

My wife and I have stayed previously in Premier Inns Mainly in London. This was maybe 5 YEARS ago and our recollection at the time was adequate with a poorish breakfast. This time we were very pleased with all the staff and the facilities offered and we will certainly use them again.

Fantastic super friendly staff, the room was clean, the Wifi fast and bed comfortable. I had the best time and they even went to great lengths to accommodate my veganism. Very close to station also. Will stay again.
