First stay at a premier inn, having stayed at other 'budget' chains and been impressed. Room was clean, but very small, with no wardrobe and toiletries attached to walls in dispensers. there was a hairdryer, but no iron!!
I called down to reception only to be told I had to go to reception to get one. When I arrived at reception I was told all the irons were loaned out. This caused me to panic as I had no idea when the iron would available. When the iron finally turned up it was thrust into my hands with no apology for its latest.

My advice would be to take an iron when staying at the premier in where you won't find anything "premier",

This Premier Inn is right where you want it to be - you couldn't get more central than this. It's literally a stone's throw from the railway station. Despite that, I wasn't bothered by any noise and had a great night's sleep.

My room was clean and roomy, with tea and coffee making facilities, and a spacious bathroom with bath (certain Travelodges, take note!)

Breakfast was typical Premier Inn fayre, self service full English Breakfast, plus Costa Coffee, juices and continental options. The only down-side was that the 'complimentary newspaper' was a copy of Metro(!)

I'm always really impressed with the security at Premier Inns, and this one was no different, with a key card needed to get through the door to even access the lifts.

Third time we have stayed here and at £39 a night excellent value. Rooms are clean with all necessary facilities and the staff generally helpful. Location for city centre and rail station can't be beaten.

I arrived here early evening and the reception staff were most helpful. There is underground parking for a limited number of vehicles. Checking in was easy and my room was on the 9th floor. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. There was tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was of reasonabl size and had a shower over the bath. Shower/bath gel was supplied attached to the wall within easy reach. The only downside if this is one was that the TV was fairly small when sat back on the bed watching the footy at the time. There is air conditioning in the rooms but despite the hot weather i didn't feel it necessary.
The restaurant and bar area downstairs was very clean and prices were reasonable for hotel drinks/meal costs. There were a few tables just outside the main entrance to the hotel which was pleasant as it was a hot evening.
The location was ideal for shopping in the Town and for restaurants and bars. The railway station was 100 yards away and despite this i heard no noise. There is a cashpoint in the hotel but this charges £1.75 for its use. If you walk out of the hotel and pass the railway station there is a nice little Tesco express which has a cashpoint outside. Failing that there are banks further away dotted amongst the shopping area.
Breakfast the following morning is served from 0630 and had all the normal delights from cereal, fruit to full english. Checking out was easy as well and the lift takes you to the car park where you can drop your room key into a bin as you leave. The room key also gives access to the lift area which is shut off from non key card holders.
