Lousy selection of beer, unnecessary bouncer presence, dull sanitised interior, people milling about who may or may not have been staff, dithering service and lacking any kind of atmosphere.
And I get that the food on match day is cheap so my expectations were low to begin with, but for it to be served in a polystyrene box having been bought from a nearby chip shop was quite remarkable.
The previous incarnation was a brilliant beer lovers pub that attracted people on a Tigers match day. You’d see people spilling out on the street it was so busy. This version won’t achieve that. It’s everything the old version wasn’t and sadly I think the new management believe that’s a good thing. Will fail.
