“Family pub/restaurant”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

This restaurant is close to a Premier Inn and was very busy on a Friday evening. We had booked a table for four and, arriving early, we were served drinks in the bar area to wait. It was comfortable enough, although we rather felt as though we were intruding on some family gathering for a while. However, our table was ready at the appointed time and we were seated in a very dark corner. The menu is typical of a Pub-chain - but happy to say that the food was tasty, served hot and there was plenty of it. (Good value too, with special offers available) More than can be said for the bottle of white wine we ordered that was served warm............... However, our waitress was happy to provide a supply of ice cubes which did manage to reduce the temperature a little - but also managed to dilute the wine............. Service was good on a busy night. If you fancy a quiet, romantic evening, go elsewhere as this is definitely a child-friendly establishment. There is an indoor play area - a boon for busy parents with boisterous youngsters! Our companions were full of praise for the Premier Inn - said it was clean, quiet and convenient.

“Nice venue”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We've eaten here twice this month. The first time was better, it is very busy as it is good value. The building is nice, service slow (but both times it was busy so that may be harsh). The lamb was a bit stringy but cooked nicely and it was tasty. The peas were somewhat overcooked and onion rings soggy but it was OK. Could have been better though.

“Good breakfasts.”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

We ate breakfast twice while staying at the Premier Inn next door, and we were well satisfied. Full cooked first day, continental the second. As much as you can eat, £8.75 or £6.25. That solved the problem of looking elsewhere and set us up for the day. Friendly staff.

I recommend this pub because they have good food and it's not expensive. There is a playground and it's perfect for kids as well.
