“Perfect for a city break.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2013

Stayed as an away football fan , coming to watch a match. Paid 68 for the night which is very reasonable. Hotel was easy to get to and parking was convenient. Check in was smooth and the receptionist was very polite and helpful. Rooms are what you would expect from a Holiday Inn- clean, basic but spacious. Bar is very nice and not over priced. The location is perfect for shopping, a night out and access to the sports grounds. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Ok, can not blame a hotel for the bad neighborhood, but for not having a mini bar when you just need a drop of water. Staff is friendly, restaurant acceptable. Hotel could use an overhaul, all seems very old and worn out. As repeat Leicester visitor I am still looking for that one place to come back to.
what's the deal with this 200 minimum words, there really isn't that much to be said about some hotels.

Staff on reception, in the bar and restaurant all excellent.
Nice large clean room, which was a free upgrade to a kingsize bed.
Restaurant dinner was very good and enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, all served with a smile by the very helpful staff.

We stayed here on a Friday night with my daughter so had a double double room which was spacious and well kitted out with all our needs, the bed was comfortable and had a reasonable night sleep, but air con or something was humming all night,so might be worth asking for room away from air con if possible. in the restaurant for dinner the food was delicious ,wine approx £20 per bottle ,and the staff there were extremely accommodating with food orders as we are vegetarian, but nothing was too much trouble, overall excellent. A good range of breakfast items available as a buffet and extras available on request : we ordered boiled eggs and porridge. The location is handy for highcross shopping centre and the city centre just a short 5 min walk in.
The parking is £10 for 24 hour in the ncp car park which is next door : just take ticket for validation and payment in hotel. We also went in the pool for a quick dip, nice facilities lovely hot jacuzzi ,steam and sauna rooms also by pool, gym looked well equipped .
Overall staff great, food excellent, location convenient : would stay again

As many others have already mentioned, this hotel is basically in the middle of a roundabout. Thankfully I had the use of a car, but it does feel a little odd when you first arrive. Parking is easy, have to admit I think 10 pounds/per 24 hours is a little steep (it's cheaper to park at Westfield in London!) but as there's nowhere else to park it's the only solution (although apparently there are cheaper carparks nearby but I didn't fancy crossing the 3-lane roundabout).

The staff here are fantastic - from ringing up about an error with my booking to checking in/out everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room I had on the 3rd floor (remodelled compared to some of the older rooms) was spacious, clean and quiet. Comfortable, large bed with different selection of pillows. Worth asking if one is available - have seen their older rooms and it's a definite improvement!

I paid around 60 pounds per night including breakfast - I cannot comment on food as left before breakfast started at the weekend (7.30am).

Would definitely recommend if you need somewhere central in Leicester.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 3rd floor (remodelled)

Stayed overnight on business. Jumped up to shower and all I got was a trickle! Had to use the glass in the bathroom to wash, very uncomfortable and not nice.

As soon as I got downstairs I complained, they said they would send an engineer which they did, in the morning the shower did work. I also had a letter of apology on my return to the room.

The hotel is quite old an on a big roundabout quite near the city centre, rooms were OK basic but dated.

Staff were attentive throughout the hotel and the breakfast was OK 6/10.

When I checked out I had been flagged so once again there was an apology about the shower but they still had no issue with charging me £10 for parking my car overnight! If they were that concerned about the shower issue giving me free parking would have been nice!

Room Tip: Check your shower on arrival, not just before needing it!

I stayed here for the third time this year as we use as a central point to meet friends.

The hotel, which is siituated in the middle of St Nicholas Circus roundabout, usually has competitive prices for the weekend, you can park right next door for £10 (car park charges £12 for 24hrs) and the staff have always been friendly and efficient. As an example when we got to our room it did have a very pungent smell. One call to reception and within 10 minutes we were in another room.

It has got a bit tired over three years, but the rooms are spacious and the spa (pool, sauna, steam room) is good. The breakfasts are also good and when travelling with an older daughter as it is nice to have it for free. The bar and restaurant are quite expensive, but the centre of Leicester is only a 5 minute walk away.

It should be noted on the weekends this is a popular hotel for weddings, hen parties and stag do's, so bring you earplugs! We were woken at 4 am, but again one call to reception and it was sorted.

Overall, this is a good place to stay that has a strange location and is convenient for town, with excellent service, but could benefit from a bit of updating.
