we stayed at the blaby hotel as we had to work in the local area over a few weeks
although the hotel has recently been taken over and yes some areas such as carpets in the entrance needs replacing. The hotel bed rooms were very clean and well presented and the beds very comfy . the evening meals were good value for money an Alex Breakfast was the best we have had in a hotel, well done to Richard the manager and all his team for making us feel at home during our stay nothing was to much trouble for them we will recommend the Blaby ever time and will be staying again when in the area.

Room Tip: we stayed in two rooms in the main building and found both to be ideal for our needs and very clean

Have stayed here previously and found it OK, hence the reason for repeat booking. This time around, it definitely felt run down and in need of an upgrade. The single room I was in was tiny with an uncomfortable bed and thin pillow. Clean-ish until you looked a bit closer where there was a lot of dust in the nooks and crannys. The bathroom was OK but the liquid soap in the dispenser looked disgusting - all separated out into different vile coloured layers. The shower had one temperature - red hot and couldn't be adjusted at all. The room was nicely warm / hot when I first arrived and, in fairness, I thought "good" as I hate cold hotel rooms. However, when I checked the radiator to turn it down, I found I couldn't as the TRV valve was missing / broken. This meant a very uncomfortable night, in a 'red hot' room, with the window wide open. The bar was empty and totally lacking in any atmosphere - and, to get a drink, you had to ring a bell to get someone to come and serve. This took ages each time! Only had breakfast in the restaurant and this was only just OK. A poor 'continental' selection and, if you wanted anything cooked, you had to order when giving your room number at the door. Great - but don't order sausages - there weren't any! The worst bit - and I don't know how to politely put this - was the horrendous smell of body odour that hit you as soon as you opened the front door. I don't know if other members of staff are nervous about telling the check-in person that they have a persoanl hygiene problem but I'm doing so - get a can of deoderant please! So, overall, this was just about OK for a 'one night' stay but never again sadly and I can't recommend it to anyone else.

Hotel was book for me by client and I never stayed at weekends time march to june. Its an old style house with rooms and an adjacent annex.
The bar faces the front car park and is quite modern in appearance; the reception is further back or can be accessed by the road way to the back car park. The reception staff are very courteous and friendly, waiting and kitchen staff are the same, lady at the bar excellent and breakfast team very jolly. Rooms (and I was in a few) are business like, clean and airy, If you can go for one of the rooms with the larger windows.
The bar food and restaurant menu changes (make sure Brian is in the kitchen) though I tended to mix and match and also have a cheese board (not on the menu) and mainly eat in the bar area as I had breakfast in the restaurant. The home-made burgers were enormous, faggots from the local butcher excellent, steaks cooked as ordered. Breakfast is a set affair again Brian makes excellent scrambled egg. The hotel gym is adequately equipt with ergo’s running machines, cross trainers, weights etc. and was never overly packed, though the pool was having repairs to the end of my stay so could be worth ringing.
Really nice 48 bedroom hotel in a nice area of Leicester would recommend

Room Tip: ask for roms with the larger windows

We booked a reception room and food for a Wake. At noon on the day before the funeral we were rung and informed that they could not honour the reservation. They stated that this was due to there failure to pay outstanding bills resulting in their electricity supply being cut off. No assistance was offered to us with regard to finding an alternative. Our deposit was returned via the Funeral Director without any apology. We have subsequently learned that this is not the first time that customers have been let down in this way. Needless-to-say, we will never darken their door again

Small family run hotel divided into 2 parts with an older section & a modern block across the entrance to the car park. I stayed in the newer block & had a large clean room with plenty of lamps, nice furniture & a very clean modern bathroom. Duvet cover was white cotton & spotless.
Restaurant food was fine & breakfast in the morning was a hot buffet which was kept topped up by very attentive waiters.
All the staff I met were very friendly & pleasant & went out of their to help me.
The empty swimming pool next to the reception is a bit unfortunate as it doesn't create a very good first impression.
My only concern with the hotel was that there wasn't a lift in either the main building or new block. This caused a bit of a problem even though the staff went out of their way to be as helpful as possible.
Overall a nice cosy hotel which i would be happy to return to.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room if you have difficulties with stairs.

12th May was our Ruby Wedding anniversary so we arranged a Sunday Lunch at The Westfield House Hotel Blaby for ourselves and 26 family and guests in their Bosworth suite. Prior to the event the staff were extremely helpful in supplying a tailored menu (allowed us to organise pre-orders) and advice on table layout.
On the day the staff had laid the room out lovely, it looked as exactly as we wanted. The food was cooked to perfection (our compliments to the chef), all the meals were correct as ordered and brought out quickly.
Our thanks to everyone who helped, it made our special day extra special.

We stayed here one night on a voucher deal which was good value. Hotel rooms are mainly in blocks not in main hotel, they were spacious and clean. Swimming pool was out of action and I think this maybe the case for some time. All the staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was cooked to order and service prompt. Only bad points only one large towel and one small towel in bathroom when we arrived and only one thin pillow each . It is a 1 minuet walk in to the town where there are plenty of shops, pubs and a couple of restaurants. There is a nice park 10mins walk if you want a stroll. It is close to Leicester and so all in all good for an overnight stay
