“Leicester stay- Oh dear!”

Like most people, I think of the Hilton brand as a sure fire place of excellence and a twist on special. Not this time. The overall experience was bland and features looked pared down which showed in the breakfast range, the decor and the layout of the standard rooms. Now the standard rooms are clean and of good size but the appearance is basic but functional. And pay more if you want style. The downer for experience in the standard roons is the location of the TVs on the side of the room with the beds facing straight ahead. Even with swivel tvs (which these are not), it is awkward and a pain if you like to relax watching tv/ movies on a hotel stay. The staff and service was efficient and helpful. I did not use the gym/ swimming pool but it is well equipped. So I would say check the place before using it for a special event or just go to the Marriot which has a much nicer customer experience in the public areas/ restuarant. Or try the Hilton Gatwick Airport (but not if you need to be in Leicester).

Stayed here on tuesday 1st July with work, ideal location really for leicester city centre, rooms were large and clean. However when we returned from our night out about 10.45pm there was 3 rats right outside the entrace of the hotel! The breakfast in the morning was ok pretty standard!

I would pay the extra and stay in the marriott!

We unfortunately do experience on occasions visits from rodents, and have a process in place to deter and to remove them. However any new reportings of activity, assists us with the agency we use and are grateful you have brought this to our attention.

Brilliant hotel . ask for a room overlooking the gardens on first floor. Although just off motorway its really quiet and only two floors so has a really nice feel to it . family rooms great as was swimming pool. Breakfast excellent . Didn't eat there . walked to Mcd just up road ! We stayed as part of stay play explore deal . For family of 4 only £109 for one night stay breakfast and car parking and tickets to 3 attractions . On Hilton website over this price for room only ! Sonic you are thinking of staying here look into this deal !

Great spot easy to find just of the M1,Room not bad room service good the food was average and got charged for the tray I was going to take it him for being charged for it the hotel is getting a little bit tired and needs a makeover ,the room for the reception was very good and the buffet was brilliant ,overall it's very good I would go back again

Stayed for one night with my husband. As he was a diamond member we were upgraded to a suite and given a free drinks voucher. The hotel was full to the brim with people going to the kasabian concert like us and there were loads and loads of people asking questions and checking in at reception. The staff were ultra professional and always friendly and very helpful despite some tough customers. We had a few drinks in the bar and sat in the courtyard outside which had a lovely seating area, fountain and fishpond. Breakfast the next morning was brilliant and the same friendly helpful staff. If I had to stop off in Leicester for anything I would definitely stay here again.

I had four good nights sleep, the biggest problem the perpetual noise from the venting fan in the bathroom.
This hotel is ideally placed for a stop mid country as it sits beside several motorways. The biggest problem the hotel charges for parking; there is no other way to get there as it is surrounded by major roads.
The hotel is the ideal business hotel, unfortunately it also charges for internet access in the rooms providing 1 hour free in public rooms.
I stayed here four nights, at the end of the first night I identified 3 faults in the room; I was offered a room change which I declined as the room was in a good location. There was no effort made to resolve any of the problems, despite two being very easy to fix.
The food in the restaurant is very good, the problem, the waiting staff, four meals two errors with orders. How does a mixed salad as a starter turn into mixed vegetables as a starter. How does a mixed salad as a starter turn into a tomato and mozzarella salad

We have just stayed at the Hilton Leicester and have to say that every aspect of our stay was superb.

We used this as our base for the Kasabian gig and although the hotel was a little out of town it met our needs perfectly. We arrived earlier than the allotted 3.00 check in time but were greeted by Zara who went out of her way to try and find us a family room (167 nice and quiet) that was made up so we could get ourselves organised. We were given advice on transport in the local area, taxi and bus details, where the nearest stops were and where we needed to be to get the return journey.

The room was extremely comfortable, as you are familiar with with Hilton Hotels, the room facilities were very good and all fully functional (the only down side for us was that the clown who had the room previously had set the alarm clock to keep coming on at 20 minute intervals from 05.00 onwards which was rather annoying).

Breakfast was very good, again with very helpful and attentive staff, a friendly smile and hello and then we were escorted to our table and provided with our choice of drinks, the food was very good, no complaints at all.

Check out was swift and painless, yes you have to pay £5 for parking but it's a secure gated car park so I don't have a problem with that, it's far cheaper than city centre overnight parking.

All in all I would use this hotel again, the staff made a very good impression and the management should be pleased to have assets like this on their team.
