I have just returned from a day night stay which turned into a two night stay following eye surgery nearby. It was a very convenient location with an easy access carpark and had the most comfortable beds. Yes it was a little warm but fans were provided, they soon cooled us down. Ate a delicious late lunch one day, no breakfasts due to early hospital appointments and we ate nearby in the evening. We would certainly recommend this hotel,

Room Tip: Superior room turned out to be a suite

Good place to stay, service excellent. Bathroom was very small and the rooms could
do with air con as it was very hot and difficult to sleep. Breakfast good and the waitress service was friendly and efficient. Reception and bar staff very friendly and helpful.

My friend & I stayed @ this hotel last Saturday 27th July night as we were going to the comedy club up the rd.We arrived @ the hotel @ 2pm, large car park just around the back of the hotel.Very nice girl on check in. We where on the 4th floor (a refurbished room)413. I don,t know if all the rooms have been done yet.The only thing that lets it down is the old bathroom but it did the job.It cost £55.50 for the night this was room only. We would stay here again .

We stayed overnight here while attending a concert nearby. The Mercure brand is usually quite reliable and so it proved in Leicester.

The hotel is located in a gracious old building with bags of character, the friendly check in person set the right tone and we got the refurbed Privilege room we had booked. It faced inwards and therefore no view but more importantly it was very quiet so if you are a light sleeper ask for Room 323 or similar, no noise discernible at night. Also it had windows which opened fully so on a hot summers night we were able to get some air into the room.

The room was large, bed comfortable, Nespresso machine for coffee, nice new fabrics and spacious bathroom.

The bistro looked nice but we didn't have time to eat there unfortunately.

We would definitely stay here again if we go to another concert at the de Montfort Hall.

Room Tip: Room rates were very competitively priced and if possible I would go for the Privilege room

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post a very positive review.

I was extremely delighted to read the comments regarding our recently refurbished Privilege Room. We are currently rolling a similar scheme throughout the hotel without the added extras you mentioned. So by September all our rooms will have been upgraded.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future when I am sure you will receive the same level of comfort and service.

I stayed here with my girlfriend last friday night while on a quick visit to Leicester for my graduation. Having flown in to Birmingham and being delayed with train connections it was 10pm before we arrived however check in was quick and friendly and the staff were happy to arrange some food for us.
This hotel has great character and history compared to a lot of soul less modern hotels, the public areas were very comfortable as was or room. The staff were friendly and helpfull throughout our stay and provided an excellent service all round.

First and foremost congratualations on your graduation.

I think you have summedour hotel up pretty well. We are a hotel with character and soul and not a modern box.

More importantly you recognised how efficient and friendly my team are.

Once again thank you for the nice comments and we look forward to welcoming you back soon on your next visit to Leicester.
