I've stayed at the regency several times and for a short stay it's pretty perfect! The main thing is the location, near to the places I want to go! The price is also perfect £37 pounds for a single room with breakfast! The room is small as is the bathroom, but, it has a Telly, and tea making facilities, more than one night sure a double room would be better! I didn't eat breakfast but the staff team were polite and efficient! One day would love to see it restored to it's formal glory but till then it's very acceptable, clean and good bed!

Room Tip: Room for is a single room on the side of the hotel so only a little road noise

We stayed here as we had booked the venue for our sons 21st birthday party. The staff were amazing and helpful, they couldn't do enough for us they did our catering and we used the hotel DJ all will brill. We had several rooms booked for family and friends and everyone was happy happy happy. The rooms are clean of good size and the beds are so comfy as are the pillows. The breakfast was great and just what was needed after a late night. Would recommend to anyone :)

Probably needs five millions £'s to bring this old hotel up to date but the rooms are clean, the bedding is good and the staff are wonderful. If you are mid-range on price, this is the place for you. The bacon and eggs at breakfast are wonderful and the quantities at dinner huge. I recommend it!!

Room -
I had a single room, rear of the hotel, room 24. Nicely appointed modern wallpaper and stylings then hideous old fashioned curtains, oh well. Bathroom was a decent size, all very clean, shower cubicle was ok, shower head upright in its holster but it was fine for a one night stay. Hot water was immediate and plentiful. TV was ok, small but fine for room of that size, had all terrestrial channels but the Sky they promote was only a fuzzy, choppy Sky News. I wasn't there to watch tv so it was fine. Plenty of coffee and tea, a biscuit pack and hot chocalate. Bed was decent, a little hard, but two good pillows, nice duvet and nice cotton sheets.

Food -
Ate in the evening at the hotel as I was so tired. Had a decent evening meal, like standard pub fayre, I couldn't fault it but not overwhelmingly great, just fine. The restaurant menu seemed a little overpriced so I opted for the bar menu. Nice breadcrumbed Brie wedges to start, nice enough fish and chips, fish was good and fresh, chips looked a little overcooked but tasted OK.
Breakfast was excellent, good display of cereal, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad and juices on offer. Great fresh cooked breakfast especially the sausage, and a lovely fresh fried egg. Beans, bacon, toast and odd tiny little mushrooms rounded it out very well.

Bar - a great selection of beers, lagers and ciders. Quiet when I was there, a good large TV screen so I watched football sat on the leather sofa on my own with a couple of pints of draft Cobra, two older chaps enjoying their night in the lounge seeing their way through two bottles of red wine!

All in all for £52 for a single room with a generous breakfast this is hard to beat. A chain hotel off the main roads outside of town are more money for less.

Recommended for those who want a nice hotel, don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. Value for money is a definite winner here.

On a one nighter to play at Leicester Golf Club so very convenient. No food on a Sunday evening which meant searching around after long day driving but no problem. A building which has obviously seen better days and could do with a deal of money to bring it up to a higher standard.but staff friendly and helpful, room comfortable, good nights sleep and very good breakfast served quickly. Pay twice as much for a modern glass and chrome place without gaining much.

This small family run hotel has easy access to the A6 just south of Leicester city centre with a large car park. Perhaps a little old school in its decor, but the staff are friendly and my room was clean if dated. So if you're out to impress not the place for you but if its a clean room at a reasonable price you're after then this is the place.

Room Tip: Room 8 bathroom not suitable if you are a fat git. you won't be able to get to the loo behind th...

Was sent there by a local friend. It is modest to say the least and like most run by a very pleasant Indian family. They were very helpful. Like all old hotels it does not have elevators and air conditioning. It had a fan in my room and is on a somewhat noisy street with activity all night long I had to leave at 5 AM so did not get the breakfast but should have been OK

Room Tip: Front of Hotel is noisy
