“Pleasant,clean&friendly staff.great for a short stay”
Reviewed 18 June 2012

Very comfortable stay for a short business stay.Location not very attractive as by the main road but the hotel has got everything you need.it's clean, food in the restaurant is good, breakfast satisfying.rooms are basic but with very comfortable beds.the main good thing about this hotel is staff, all very smiley and happy to help.stayed there 2 nights and was very happy. the only problem i had was the windows.not very sound proof (at all actually)and facing the main fly-over, i found it very hard to sleep.but all in all would recommend for a short stay-competitive prices too.

Room Tip: try to get a room not facing the main road

The surrounding area is not particularly inspiring (but I already knew this); but it is easy to find, had free parking and free wifi. Despite it's very convenient and centralised location, it was remarkably peaceful and made the most of its indoor and outdoor space. The communal areas were bright, welcoming, uncluttered and spotlessly clean. The twin room I had was again clean and perfectly adequate for my one night stay, even with my young son in tow. The beds were larger than expected and the room warm. The Anglo/French influence made you feel you were somewhere far more Continental than you were, as did the very friendly staff, particularly with my toddler. I had no need to test their problem-solving abilities, as I had no problems. The menu was far more adventurous and tempting than expected and reasonably priced. The restaurant was not the largest but perfectly placed and spaced and again, very attractive and welcoming. The breakfast was fabulous. The 'all you can eat' Continental selection was above average and looked divine. The Full Breakfast was large and lovely and far superior in content and quality than was anticipated; I'd return for that alone. CHeck-in and check out was flawless and swift. The staff were unobtrusive and in control and the guests I did come across all seemed more than happy with their stay. I fail to see how it could receive the limited yet negative reviews it has but each to their own. The only (very minor) negative was that the white wine slection was extremely limited, but seeing as I shouldn't really have been drinking it anyway, I wasn't particularly phased. The night reception chap dealt with my lone query very well too. An unexpected, relaxed and pleasurable stay. I paid £50 but this was a last minute booking. I note the Company website suggest heavily discounted room rates and if they can be got for £29/with a 19 euro discount with breakfast included, you'd be mad to miss out.

I booked two twin rooms via booking.com several weeks in advance. We arrived at 12 noon knowing we could not check-in until 2 pm. We asked Michelle on reception if there was anywhere we could get changed out of our motorcycle gear. After a quick check she said there were 2 rooms ready so we checked straight in without further ado. Parking was safe and plentiful. Michelle also gave us all the information you could ever need to know about the hotel.

The rooms were reasonably sized and equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom and shower were excellent. There was no noticeable noise of any sort during the night. We thought £8.75 for a cooked breakfast was a bit much for a budget hotel. TIP! If you go out of the hotel to the main road and turn left, walk onto the crossing, go straight across and up the side street opposite you will fund Sue's Baps. We got a giant breakfast there including 2 toast and tea or coffee for 4.75 GBP.

Checkout of the hotel was very easy. A pleasurable stay. Would stay there again if in the area.

I read a recent review after booking, and was horrified by the poster's comments - regretted booking here and wondered what to expect.
My friend and myself stayed here overnight whilst in Leicester for a football match. The hotel was all we had previously expected when we booked. Pleasant staff, clean rooms, adequate breakfast and well worth the cost which was very economical. I don't understand the negative comments made.

The Leicester Campanile is easy to find, has good parking and very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was very good value too. Rooms are clean with decent tv and coffee/tea facilities. Great for City centre access and very reasonably priced. Will definitely use this hotel again!
