“You get what you pay for - and this is pretty good for the price”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

I travel regularly for work and need to stay over nights around the country. I paid £35.00 for a room and had a choice of upgrading to an Executive room for £10.00 on arrival - with a full breakfast included so the full cost of my stay with food was £45.00 - very cheap

For this I got -
A perfectly clean room, with clean bedding and large clean towels
A small but comfortable double bed
A good shower and bath
Tea / coffee making facilities
TV
hairdryer and iron
Full breakfast in the service station Eat In café
Free Parking
Friendly helpful staff
A bargain at £45.00

Disadvantages:
It's right in the service station at the side of the MI so not in the best location for peace and quiet
Decoration dated - carpets on corridors shabby - curtains in room a bit psychedelic
Smell of cigarette smoke in the corridors (although my room was non-smoking and didn't smell)

So depends what you're looking for - if it's for a cheap night when travelling for work or en route somewhere else with family then it's a bargain - if you're travelling with family for a holiday stay or for a bit of luxury then it's not for you. Still cheap though so you could make a do :-)

Room Tip: Upgrade to an Exec Room if you get the option

Booked 2 nights online, but, had to pay for 4 nights because web site has no facility for correcting any errors you make while booking. Tried to get receptionist and manageress to correct my mistake, but, they could not do anything for me, therefor I just had to pay £110.00 for 2 nights.

Made the mistake of thinking this was off the motorway but it wasn't it was on the services, the room was ok for a short stay , basic but dated in need of decorating and new curtains. There was no air conditioning and the room was hot and stuffy we had to ask for a fan because if you left the window open you would never sleep because of the noise.

Room Tip: Dont have room 101 right next to stairs and lift

Was very impressed with reception staff, who were very helpful. Cleaners did excellent job too. Good to be in a hotel where you can bring your pooch. Very relaxing. Loved the fact that hotel was so close to a 24 hour newsagent and 4 takeaway outlets. My son loved this.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was nice. The room was fine, except for the fact that it was very very hot, and felt like an oven. We couldn't sleep, even though we were able to borrow a fan from reception. The hotel needs air conditioning.

On arrival I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful person at reception. The room was just the right size and had very clean towels and bedding. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. The bed was not very comfortable as I prefer a firm bed. It was a very hot day when I stayed and the window could only be opened a short way which did not help with ventilation. There was traffic noise, not surprising as it is a motorway service area, but it was not too bad at all. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Request a room on the second floor as it is quieter.
