“Bring a picnic......”

£3.80 something for beans on toast! Little bit excessive. The food served is average cafe food but everything just seems a bit expensive. Make use of the beautiful surroundings and take a picnic.

“Nice little tea shop”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Situated halfway across Bradgate Park, this is the ideal place for a quick snack and WC.
The staff were very friendly. We had beautifully presented sandwiches; there's also toasties and jacket potatoes. Afterwards I had a Cornetto while hubby enjoyed a lovely scone, clotted cream & mini pot of jam. There were various other cakes available.
You can eat outside or in.
The Visitor's Centre (shut when we visited) adjoins the cafe.

“Unhygienic”
Reviewed 17 January 2013

When you ask for a drink of tea or coffee the staff put their fingers in the cups to get them off the shelf. Bearing in mind that they are handling money, some of which has been given from doggie people outside who may or may not have been picking up dog poo. Who knows if the poo bag might have a tiny hole in it. Then the staff go round collecting dirty pots off tables and picking up cups where people have just had their mouths round. No sign of handwashing here because they take the pots out the back and come straight back to the counter. Come on you people who work there, start looking at some food hygiene. No wonder sickness bugs are spreading like wildfire.

“DO NOT VISIT THE DEER BARN TEA ROOM IF YOU ARE A TWIN FAMILY”
Reviewed 30 August 2012

We are regular users of Bradgate Park and are local residents. We use the Deer Barn Tea Room but usually sit outside as the weather is normally kind to us. This morning four twin mums with our double pushchairs got caught in terrible rain so we headed for the tea room for tea and cake. The lady behind the counter was so rude to us and told us we were not welcome there with our pushchairs as we took up too much room! I would like to add there was not one other customer in the barn? As a mother of twins you cannot leave the pushchair outside as you cannot physically carry both babies! If the tea room was crowded of course we would never had gone inside, but due to the adverse weather condition today was an exception. This tea room is NOT child friendly and the staff member was VERY RUDE! The park is gorgeous though.
