We booked a night here to attend a birthday party nearby. The room was excellent, clean and spacious with a very comfortable bed. The hotel bar closed at midnight but as we would be arriving from the party shortly afterwards, the manager asked us if we wanted any drinks placed in our room . Very thoughtful. A very comfortable place to stay.
However as to breakfast and Sunday lunch the following day, that was another story as per my restaurant review

There was no hot water in the whole premise, neither in the evening nor in the morning. I had to shower with freezing water. The staff was very rude, they didn't even apologize and said that they normally have shower with cold water and they enjoy it!
At breakfast I asked for a cappuccino but it was not available. Weird that my colleague got one 15 minutes later. Maybe the waitress did not like my face.
The room and the bathroom were old, the whole hotel would need a complete refurbishment.
I refused to pay but they charged my credit card anyway because they had taken a deposit at check in. I strongly discourage anybody to go to this hotel.

Room Tip: just don't go to this hotel

I came to the field head on Friday 31st Jan to a comedy night what a fantastic night, it was nice to see something different entertainment wise, iv been coming to the hotel for many years and like me and many others found the tribute nights quite repetitive so i amazed that my views to Samantha in November were listened to and she had organised a show for us. It was well organised the food was delicious and the comedienne was hilarious which was followed by a brilliant singer who got us all up dancing. All of the staff at the hotel are so nice, friendly and helpful the whole team couldn't do enough for us. We shall be returning and are already gathering our family and friends to the entertainment night in Feb. A huge thanks to Samantha and all of the team at the hotel.

Room Tip: I didnt stay in a room this occasion but iv heard the bridal suite is beautiful

Visited and stayed on business for the first time. Reception staff are a credit to the team, nothing too much trouble, and are exceptionally helpful to everyone who walks through the door. Room, warm, cosy and homely, bed and shower amazing, far better than branded hotel chains, and apparently whole hotel having a refurb in near future.
Nice atmosphere within the bar, good selection of food and drinks.

I wasnt expecting much from this last minute necessary booking and that's exactly what I got - not much. Guy on reception was lovely, friendly and helpful. Let us in to our room with his master key but then couldnt find our room key so upgraded us. Larger room but still as shabby as the first. Nice meal in the bar that evening (typical bar food). Breakfast was not good. Dirty plates, chipped cups, luke warm coffee, soft boiled eggs (hard boiled) and scrambled egg (hard boiled and mashed). Good location just off the motorway but boy oh boy the rooms need some work.

Room Tip: Just dont expect too much and you'll be fine

Can thoroughly recommend the Fieldhead Hotel, comfortable beds, clean and tidy rooms and helpful staff. Close to the main A50 road but this didn't interupt our sleep. Michael (the manager) very 'hands on' and helpful. Only (minor) downside - hot tap running cold at 6.30am-7.00am each morning, didn't fancy showering in cold water!

Room Tip: Can recommend room 11 on the ground floor.

Yet again another fantastic short break. Stayed in our usual room which we love the size of the beds here. The food menu has a good selection also good choice on the breakfast which include continental and cooked which ranged from eggs on toast, full English to kippers and smoked salmon. Rooms were comfortable and nice clean towels in bathroom. Would recommend to anyone looking for a break away from home
