Premier Inn Leicester Central (A50) Hotel
Ranked #4 of 41 Hotels in Leicester
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 16 December 2013

The cheaper of two Premier Inns on the A50. Easy access to M1 and city centre but no other eating/entertainment options within walking distance and no local shops (e.g. newsagent/food). Good sized rooms, all with bath. Some road noise if window open. Restaurant fare adequate.

Typical Premier inn high standards at a budget price
Stopped for 1 night to watch the rugby at Leicester tigers
Nice big car park, friendly staff and clean well equipped rooms
Was able to leave the car parked there with a guest pass before booking in to get to the early kick off
Had a few beers in the bar across the car park, reasonably priced and well kept
Food looked very nice and lots of choice, but didn't eat there as we had a meal in Leicester before we came back

We try to get this Premier Inn rather than any of the other 299 that Whitbread have in Leicester because we like it!

Stayed on Friday were very late (11.45pm) in arriving. Surprised to get a mobile phone call from the hotel whilst we were travelling down the M1 asking if we were on the way... perhaps they could have flogged the room again if I said that we were not!

Good reception by Matt.

Room was clean and tidy but very warm. Stayed warm all night to the point where we opened the window to get some air in (very cold outside!)

Slept OK (because the heat- we like a cooler room) and had the usual cold buffet breakfast. This was a little more noisy than usual due a large party of young lads having breakfast at the same time but hey- they were excited!

Only complaint is the horrendous radio station that they play in the restaurant. We don't travel down from the North-East to but cars or take out instant loans in Leicester or listen to rave music at 9.30am. It wasn't even pop music- it was loud, nasty and off-putting. Staff confirmed that may customers comment but that they were contractually obliged to play it!

As always in Premier Inns the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were booked in for four nights and changed room after the second night as every time toilets were flushed we seemed to hear the result passing our room which was number 3. When we asked to change rooms it was dealt with really quickly, so thanks to the lady on the front desk for sorting that.

The prices at the Fayre & Square pub in front where you have breakfast were very good value for money, hard to argue with at all. One suggestion, they owners need to change whatever they use to clean the tables as they all seemed to get very sticky.

So, in summary you get what you pay for and in terms of value for money this is pretty good.

Room Tip: Avoid room number 3 if you can.

Came here overnight on a business trip. Comfortable room, spacious, no noise problems, good breakfast.

We arrived very late and were a bit stressed. I would have to say the reception staff were very good - friendly and efficient. Likewise the staff at breakfast were good. I am not a big fan in general of chain hotels but I have had similar positive experiences on business trips to Premier Inns before.

No problems with noise that others have commented on. Room and bathroom both spotlessly clean.

Room is nicely presented but bathroom is a wee bit spartan and I wouldnt use Premier Inn for a romantic trip. For business however, ticks the boxes.

I have stayed there a number of times now on business, cannot get into breakfast as they are still getting it ready so had leave without! Guests last night came in at 12. 45 and the racket continued until 2.30 am and the reception wouldn't deal with it, there policy is to be considerate to others when returning after a night out!!! Last time my company will use this hotel!! And we use this hotel 2-3 times a month!

Room Tip: Beware other guests making a racket through the night and reception won't deal with it consideri...

Me and my partner usually travel together for occasions, we used to stay at other hotels until we found this one! Since we first came here we have never gone anywhere else! The hotel is fabulous, the rooms are beautiful, all the facilities you could possibly need are in the rooms.
We particularly love that there is a pub right next to the hotel that do a lovely breakfast, an option of a continental or a cooked, both all you can eat! All the staff are attentive and friendly! I would definitely recommend this hotel!
