An absolutely great experience. The steak was fantastic, best one I have ever had. The service was wonderful, all of the staff were knowledgable about the menu and were very friendly. Expensive for Lincoln but so worth it. Go there and buy the fillet steak tonight.

“Very nice meal but a little pricey”
Reviewed 5 August 2012

We stayed at the Tower for one night and found the restaurant to be a very nice cosey place serving excellent food. We had the scallop and mackerel starter, followed by the steak which was delicious and cooked to perfection!!! Highly recommended. The service was good and courses not rushed. Perhaps the food was a little expensive, but it was good quality (starter £8.95, Steak £24.95)

“Such a disapointment since the last review”
Reviewed 29 July 2012

Last Sunday we went as we have many times to The Tower for Sunday Lunch it was Wimbledon mens final day and Andy Murrey was getting thrashed in the Bar so we sat through to the back conservatory area. Some stuff on the menu had sold out which is fine but when you only have a choice of 4 things it cuts down your choice by 25%.
The manager or waiter or whatever he was seemed more interested in the tennis than his dining area he had no smile and forgot to bring the bread, it arrived around the time we were finishing our starters, the starters were OK but served on a Slate roof tile that is horrible to eat off. Lincoln seems to be obessed by the [--] things (London restaurants got rid 8 years ago but Lincoln is always behind.)
The Guy only cleared some of the starter plates leaving mine in front of me which confused the next waiter when he brought the mains.
The main Sunday Roast must have been running out as our portion was about half what it was on previous visits.
The desserts were good took forever to order though because the Guy was by this time sat at another table with what looked like his family watching the tennis (maybe he had finished by then but there was no one else to replace him and it's unprofessional he should get changed out of his uniform)
LAst time i wrote this was the best place to go for Sunday Lunch in Lincoln but now I'm not sure.
We will try once more to see if they were having a bad day. I hope this lazy guy is not serving us though.

“Too Posh”
Reviewed 28 July 2012 via mobile

I have enjoyed going to The Tower for many years and always enjoyed it but it has gone a little over the top. The menu is trying too hard. There are a couple of great options but there was no starter or dessert that I wanted. The staff were ok, service fine but I won't be going again.

“Steak!”
Reviewed 15 July 2012

Popped in on a Saturday evening on the off chance. Staff were friendly and knowledgable, delicious home baked bread with flavoured butters and a streak cooked to perfection. Will definitely go back - although we'll be sure to book next time, I think we were lucky to get a table!
