Stayed here for two nights on a city break. The hotel is a short walk from the train station and the city centre. The staff are attentive and range from very friendly to extremely helpful. The hotel is purpose-built and very well designed, the rooms aren't huge but well thought through, the space utilised very well and they have everything you need. The decor is modern but comfortable and the beds are very comfortable. The bar area is very nice and doesn't have that awful "hotel bar" decor about it. Breakfast was good, only gripe is that the coffee is awful. Free wi-fi is available in the bar/restaurant area downstairs, easy to connect to and a good fast connection. We booked with www.bestratebeds.com and got a very good price, it was much less than other hotels in Lincoln I looked at and given the quality of the hotel and the level of service I am delighted with how little we paid. Oh, and the hotel is spotlessly clean to boot. It was excellent for a romantic trip away but would be equally good for business travellers.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the quieter side of the hotel to avoid traffic noise.

We originally booked into the holiday inn but were transferred due to over booking. I can not do anything other than praise this great hotel. The staff are happy, attentive and helpful at ALL times. On arrival we were given a full apology, although it was the other hotels fault for the booking problems. The reception were helpful in all aspects of our stay. The rooms are have all that is needed, are clean and well cared for.
I realised when I got home that I had left my phone charger in the room, I phoned the hotel (it was nice to have a number that was answered straight away by a human) they had already found my charger and have offered posted it back to my home address free of charge. I would definately recommend this hotel although a little out of the town centre the staff of this hotel make up for the walk.

Stayed here for just one night on a Friday and was impressed by the welcome and helpful people at the front desk. Good sized room and very clean bath shower. There is a secure parking lot out back and for a £4 charge, if you have a booking, you get 24 hours come and go parking - which is a good deal if you are out and about in the city. The hotel is near the marina area, across from the University, with a host of restaurants and the cinema, and is a leisurely 15 minute walk into the town centre - just be careful to use the signalled crossings out front of the hotel. A breakfast is included in the stay with all the usual; cereals and coffee and tea, toast and croissants, and warm scrambled eggs and sausage [tip - watch and wait for a fresh delivery to the servery from the kitchen]
Good place to stay for business or pleasure.

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of July 2011. There is a car park at the back which is a decent size, I'm pretty sure it cost an extra £5 per day if you had your own car and wanted to park (come/go) throughout the day.

I was with my family, so there were 2 adults and 2 kids, the room is REALLY small. It' a double bed and a pull out sofa bed. The room was small enough with the sofa closed, but once you open it, you have to climb over it and the bed to get to the other side.
No wardrobe, just a few hangers in a small kid of ...wooden bit which is supposed to act as a wardrobe, I suppose? Bathroom etc was clean enough, no issues there.

Breakfast was quite nice, the regular scrambled eggs, cereal, muffin, juice etc. There was a fair variety.

Staff were really friendly, gave us directions to the places we needed to get to. Also helped us a lot when we accidentally locked our car keys inside the car and didn't have a spare, they called the insurance company etc for us without it being any hassle.

The hotel is conveniently located near McDonalds and a retail park, I can't remember what shops were there but I think there was a Tesco too if you wanted to get your own food etc.

Overall, ok, but definitely wouldn't reccommend for a family. Only stay if you are either travelling alone/with one other person, and if you are just stopping over for a night or two.
