“Perfect....lincoln's best kept secret!”
Reviewed 13 April 2013

The restaurant is excellent, I'm very unsure why there are not more reviews for it. The food and service are fantastic and a great location overlooking the cathedral has to be one of the best views in the city. We got married at this hotel 5 years ago (prior to the Green Room opening), we have eaten at the hotel sometime ago and the food has always been great, I've also used the hotel for a work conference with dining, this too was first class....nothing too much trouble.

I think most of the diners are hotel guests, however the restaurant to open to non-residents. I'm not sure why this restaurant/hotel is not more talked about as on every occasion I have found it to be more superior than The white hart and Castle hotels.

I'm sure if you visit you won't be disappointed.

“Fine dining in Lincoln”
Reviewed 18 July 2011

Would not have known the restaurant was there, tucked away in a corner of The Lincoln Hotel, if a colleague hadn't taken me. You can go in even if you're not staying in the hotel itself, but it might be a good idea to book on busy evenings, as it's not a very big place.

The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and sophisticated. Not that cheap, of course, but worth its price and more. To begin with, there was a selection of little bread muffins, flavoured with cheese, or honey, or almonds,... accompanied by regular salted butter or butter with pistachio nuts. The 'amuse-bouche' was a delightful, strongly flavoured soup of wild mushrooms with cappucino foam. Salmon as main ingredient of my starter (with squeaky fresh green beans), followed by scallop risotto as a main course - and I'm starting to repeat myself here - was delicious! Definitely compliments to the chef.

No more room for dessert, unfortunately. The portions aren't big, but just enough to enjoy what is actually served. The waitress, by the way, was extremely friendly, in a natural sort of way.

If you want some relaxed fine dining in Lincoln, this is the place to go.
