Stayed for 2 nights & it was very good, room was comfortable & very quiet. The staff were excellent , always about if you required anything & always attentive to ensure all was well. The buffet breakfast was 1st class.

Room Tip: we were in twin room 129 on ground level & it was out of the possible noise area of functions...

We have stayed here four times during the week and always rated it highly. However this visit was very disappointing because of the very noisy function which caused a sleepless night. Our cathedral view room (214) was over the reception and the loud music from the function below ruined our stay. Also worth noting the very noisy lift! Staff were helpful but another wedding party planned for the Saturday night caused us to leave early a day early as could not face another broken night sleep. What we find hard to forgive is that no one warned us about the function when we booked in- that's not good customer care.

Room Tip: Cathedral view have great view but very noisy at weekends

Had a weekend here at the end of August this year. Lovely view of the Cathedral from our room. Room was clean and comfortable with air conditioning. Food excellent. Staff very friendly. Look forward to staying here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a good view of the Cathedral.

My wife and I spent a couple of days at the Lincoln last week. First impressions are that it's a fairly modern hotel, however it is looking a bit tired in places. The room was clean but small for the price asked.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful, although I was surprised that when we arrived we were made to wait until 2 o clock for our room. I suspect that this was because we hadn't paid for the luxury package which affords a 12 o clock access to your room. (a bit petty?)
The first night we decided to use the Green room restaurant which proved to be a big mistake. despite there being only us 2 in the restaurant for a good time they managed to bring the wrong starter to my wife.
The main courses were cooked very poorly and the vegetables appeared to us to have been reheated. I complained and was provided with my wine on a complimentary basis. the only other couple in the restaurant complained as well, so we felt vindicated.
The anomaly is that the breakfast was very good.

Room Tip: Room 240 is a "route march" to reception

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your comments, following your recent visit to The Lincoln Hotel.

I am extremely sorry that your visit was marred by your dining experience; please accept my sincere apologies for this.
Our check in time for the bedrooms is 2pm every day. We do aim to have all of our seventy one rooms serviced by 2pm following an 11am checkout of our previous guests. If a guest does arrive early and their room has been serviced before this time we do allow guests to have access. Unfortunately, logistically it isn’t always possible to process all the rooms earlier than this time and certainly had no bearing on the fact that you hadn’t booked our VIP package.
On a more positive note I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the quality of our breakfast, cleanliness of the rooms and customer service of our staff. I will pass on your kind comments to the team members concerned.

In the meantime, thank you again for your comments and I look forward to welcoming you back at The Lincoln Hotel next time you visit.

Yours sincerely

Stayed at the Lincoln Hotel the last weekend in October for 2 nights, really comfortable, warm, clean & welcoming place, quiet room on the side of the hotel & a substantial breakfast buffet style
each morning. Cosy lounge to read the copious amount of newspapers & magazines with waitress service if required.
Ideally situated opposite the cathedral, leading to a very interesting walk down Steep Hill to the town or a short walk to the castle. (Note the hill is VERY steep "")
Couldn't fault the hotel, didn't try the restaurant, the bar area was very busy on the Saturday night as a wedding reception was taking place. Only small problem was the bathroom extractor fan didn't work.
In general a great stay.

Room Tip: If you want a view of the cathedral ask for a room over the front main entrance, however you may enc...

Dear Guest

Thank you for sharing your kind review on Tripadvisor. I was very pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us.

We are indeed ideally situated for exploring historic Lincoln and the Bailgate area, and as for Steep Hill, it was awarded Britain’s Best Street in 2012 and certainly is an interesting talking point for all our visitors to Lincoln.

We look forward to welcoming you back at The Lincoln Hotel in the future.

Probably our 5th visit to this hotel - great location (can't beat the view from the front rooms); nice reception staff and the rooms are spacious and well equipped, breakfast is really good buffet in nice light area. Upgraded to suite in the older part of the hotel and this was beautifully kitted out - with massive bath in the bedroom!

Room Tip: Rooms at front have stunning view of the cathedral
