We stayed for one night on our way north. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the breakfast good. The location is on the main A15, opposite a park: there is off-road parking. We had thought from the hotel information that it was within easy walking distance of the city centre, but in fact it was a good 40 minutes on foot. Our main gripe was the plumbing which was in need of an overhaul: we both had a bit of a to-do to get the shower to function.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back - much quieter.

Although my room at the Tennyson was somewhat small, there were lots of charming touches in the décor that made me feel at home, including a cheery color-scheme and a comfortable lounge chair as well as a friendly staff. There is also a nice lounge available for relaxing and taking tea outside one’s room and a pleasant dining room for the full English breakfast. The B&B is located very close to Lincoln’s High Street, so there were plenty of shopping and eating establishments close at hand. But for that reason I didn’t love the location of the room with its ground-floor bay-window so close to the busy street, so although the bed was comfortable and the room-darkening curtains blocked out the street-lights I was compelled to wear earplugs to block out the street-noise. Parking was also very tight. If I were ever to return to Lincoln, I would return to the Tennyson but I would request a room away from the street.

We arrived earlier than 16.00 and were welcome to park the the car and enter. The room was very pleasant freeview tv, huge bed, wifi access, a small choclate flake for each of us ample coffee and tea. On Easter Sunday two small choclate eggs and an Easter card were left There is a four paged information pack which tells you of all the local amenities in the room very helpful The cleanliness was spotless with a good size warrobe for a short stay. We slept well (the wife wanted to take the bed home with us) and went down for a full english breakfast lashing of toast tea or coffee served hot and very curtiously. Upon leaving we chatted to the owner who is very amiable who has recently taken over I defy anybody not to give this hotel a 5. The hotel is a far way outside the city but we enjoyed the walk

Room Tip: Our room was number 2 up one flight of stairs and on the front of the hotel we slept soundly

My mother and I stayed in this hotel in September 2012 whilst visiting family, we had a lovely overnight stay, extremely friendly, fantastic breakfast and a very nice friendly welcome. Would highly recommend it and we enjoyed the hospitality and the location so much we are returning again in May 2013 for a family christening, bringing along with us other members of our family. Looking forward to our re-visit

Room Tip: if you have a special requirement ask, i asked for a quieter room on my first visit as i was with my...

Friendly welcome on arrival, we were told of local shops, pubs and eateries. Room was lovely and comfortable, plenty of space and little extra touches. Facilities at hotel - comfy lounge which we didn't use on this occasion and well placed dining room. Breakfast was included and boy what a breakfast - the full works, well presented by attentive staff. Overall would recommend and use again when in Lincoln.

This privately operated B&B was a real surprise. On the edge of the city but within a mile walk of the centre. There are a number of eateries within a 5 minute walk.
The room I had was spacious and had all facilities.
The bed was good and the shower was hot.
Breakfast was the genuine 'full English breakfast'.
The host and hostess are charming and their personal touches extended to a small stuffed toy sitting on the pillow.
Parking is limited to about 4 cars, so it is first in best dressed.

The hotel was in a great location, easy walking distance to town. It was warm and comfortable, with nice thoughtful touches in the room, a phone charger with adaptors, sewing kit, proper chairs in the rooms, teddy on the bed, free wifi, full sized kettle. Also a nice lounge with computer, books to borrow and sweets. Breakfast was excellent, good choice and perfectly cooked. The only downside was that the shower was rubbish, hot but no power, and bath towels were tiny. We were made to feel welcome and could also park easily. We had read that traffic noise was an issue in the front bedrooms, we did not find this to be a problem at all, and would stay again.
