We had the pleasure to visit the Jews House last Friday and what a treat it was. The Resturant was cosy but very comfortable, and smart, yet relaxed. The staff were attentive but not to the point of being over-noticed, they were well versed in the menu and wines to match and seemed to have a sixth sense that alerted them to the needs of the customer.
The food was delicious and well presented and athought the portions were not enormous they did hit the spot. Squab Pigeon and Duck to start, Lamb Fillet and Chicken with Morrels for main; simply put food heaven.
We will be back again to what is one of the best places I have ever eaten!

Two of us visited recently for lunch and enjoyed everything from start to finish. The waiting staff were friendly, attentative and knowledgable regarding food and wines. The food was excellent, cooked just right and tasted incredible. The portions are not huge, but this is not that sort of restaurant. I had two courses which more than catered for my needs. The dining room is small, and can comfortably seat 16, but the decor is tasteful and the tablecloths and napkins were spotless white linen. If you want a large, noisy, bustling restaurant this would not fit, but for an above-average food experience in very pleasant surroundings this is great. We will certainly be visiting again.

Went with husband for our wedding anniversary, staff were welcoming, efficient and very attentive. Had the tasting menu and everything was delicious, had to make a couple of changes due to my being pregnant and husband not eating chocolate but waitress asked about special requirements at the beginning of the evening and these were taken into account without further mention. Would love to go back and try the tasting menu (which is changed regularly) with wine matching and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

I went here with some friends as we had heard lots about it and it has received some excellent reviews on here.

Service was really good, the waiting staff were attentive but not getting in our way.

The food was excellent the portion size was good although HAD to have three courses.

The Jews house is expensive but it really is worth a visit for a treat or special occasion! Will definately make a return visit.

We had the tasting menu, which was absolutely delicious, and the wine was perfectly matched. They've recently redecorated after a fire -- we sat in the ground floor room which manages to be elegant yet warm. The help were great -- I don't know how staff that young can be that knowledgeable. This is one of the most ancient buildings in this ancient cathedral town -- it was both a pleasure and an honour to eat there. Booking essential on weekends - we were lucky to get in.
