We went on a Sunday lunchtime for the carvery - it was dead and I now see why.

The restaurant was unable to cope with the number of customers, approx 10, in the restaurant. This was evident in the lack of vegetables available, those left were dried out and disgusting.

Even worse was the waitress. When told that we couldn't pay with card she argued that there was a sign on the door, which there was not. She was rude, full of attitude and alone a deterrent from ever going back to this restaurant.

I would rather go to MacDonalds, guaranteed better food and customer service.

Hey there,

I'm sorry to hear of your unpleasant experience at The Green Dragon in Lincoln. The management team at the time of your visit are no longer present at the venue, in fact the building is under brand new ownership, Smiths Inns are no longer the owners and there is a whole new team in place, brand new chefs, new managers and new staff.

We have restructured the management of the building, created a completely new food menu and genuinely care about making our investment in the property a long term investment - built on a reputation of quality products, quality service and a friendly atmosphere.

We hope you will consider giving the building another chance and let us show you that The Green Dragon has changed and the mistakes of the old managers/chefs/owners are not echoed in the current incarnation of this historic building.

All The Best,

The New Management Team @ The Green Dragon

Realised when I tried to move the napkin and place mat that they were both stuck to the table with a lot of smeared food residue. Nasty. And the meat in the pie was unbelievably salty. Will not be returning.

We went here for lunch last Wednesday, it's a lovely timbered building that has been restored, slightly tucked out of the way on the waterside. It wasn't too busy but a steady flow of diners and others just in for a drink. They have a great selection of real ales so that was a bonus,a nicely set out restaurant and polite , helpful staff.
The food was home cooked, we had the excellent home made tomato soup that came with a hot baguette and the meal that followed was equally superb. We had two courses with drinks and the total was £30.00 we didn't think that was bad for decent food. All in all a good experience, we shall return.
