we stayed at this hotel for one night in Aug, it was faultless! on arriving in reception to a really warm welcome and a warm Choc cookie, the staff were lovely, cheerful and very knowledgeable about the area in all aspects. we checked into our room which was a deluxe room with marina view, immaculately clean everywhere, separate living area with flat screen TV, free WI-FI, a safe in the bedroom cupboard, radio with alarm clock, large balcony windows for a light and airy feel, the bedroom had an amazing comfy king size bed, again with another large flat screen TV, a large dressing room table with large mirror and plenty of plugs for hair dryers etc . A hair dryer, ironing board and iron, kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits were also in the room. The bathroom was to the same standards with shower, bath, large mirror again and some lovely toiletries, very large bath towels and pleanty of them too, bathrobes were available and complimentary slippers were in the room along with bottled water. we requested more water which was never a problem and delivered to our room within minutes as was the crushed ice several times during our stay. Everything about our room was very spacious and if you havnt noticed by now.....Large!! We had a drink in the bar on the fifth floor which was lovely and the cocktails are not to be missed, again the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent with well known cereals, fresh fruit, pastries and hot food which were all lovely and tasty and definitely fresh. We had a very peaceful nights sleep and did not hear any noise from neighbouring guests or from the street below. There are many restaurants next to the hotel and all well known names but if you prefer to eat somewhere else reception are more than welcome to advise the best places, directions and book your taxi for you. The car park i believe has very few places so first come first serve, we were lucky and got a place no problem, check-in for us was 3 pm and we parked at 2.30 pm with car park spaces still available so i think the earlier you can get there the better, there are other car parks very close by so not really a big problem, the hotel does charge 10.00 for an overnight stay and a token is given to exit the car park on checking out. Overall it was one of the best hotel stays i have had in a long while and we are already looking forward to our return trip.Well done Double Tree!! Any questions happily answered
