This hotel was originally the Bishops Palace for the Bishop of Lincoln and dates back to medi-evil times.
My wife and myself were part of a 18 strong party of Jaguar Enthusiasts' that booked in for an overnight stay for the night of the 10th. of May.
Arriving in 9 cars at about 1.30pm we were quickly booked in and escorted to our rooms. 3 couples (including my wife and I) were accommodated in the annexe, which is a converted church in the rear garden of the hotel,
The room was fairly compact with en-suite shower room. Recently decorated, clean and comfortable.
We were booked in on a B&B basis. The breakfast was second to none. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and were able to answer various questions regarding the history of the hotel as well as pointing us in the right direction to local places of interest.
The only draw back is the car park is a little small.

We recently held our blessing at the Old Palace. It was truly a day to remember. Danielle, the events organiser, couldn't have been more helpful both before and on the day. Everything went so smoothly from drinks on arrival, the blessing in St Hugh's chapel, the canapés and Pimms after the blessing and the evening reception. The Garden Room where we held the reception looked beautiful, the food was wonderful, the service faultless. We cannot thank everyone enough for the service we received. We and most of our guests stayed in the Annexe where the rooms were fabulous followed by a great breakfast next morning. I would recommend the Old Palace for any special event you a planning. The Old Palace is in the most fantastic setting and would be the envy of any other wedding venue

Room Tip: Choose a room in the Annexe

This stay was a surprise visit for my husband's birthday. We stayed in "The Blue Room" and, true to it's name it is very blue! First impressions count and, the staff are wonderful. Nothing stuffy about them, just truly friendly and helpful. We had afternoon tea, served with a smile, in The Drawing room ,with views over Lincoln, second to none. Dinner was superb, with unobtrusive yet professional service and divine food. Breakfast had the same excellent standard of food and service. All in all a memorable stay.

Room Tip: If you like the sound of Cathedral Bells, choose either room 1 or 2.

Superb for visiting the Cathedral, Steep Hill and not too far to walk to most city attractions. Stayed in the annexe (keying in and out a bit of a fag & don't FORGET your key - WE GOT LOCKED OUT !) However rooms recently decorated and very nice touches. Evening meal was very good, though the menu was a little predictable, quality excellent. Nice cooked/or continental buffet breakfast
As other reviewers noted it is very hard to find. Basically drive to the Cathedral and at mini-roundabout look for a little open courtyard space opposite the cathedral at the corner of which is an archway through to the old Bishop's palace. Drive through there and you find its museum AND the hotel (limited parking but once we found a space it was OK as didn't really need to take the car out again.

The old Palace Lincoln is a beautiful building with great views. The Hotel is extremely comfortable with great facilities. and has the highest standards of cleanliness in all areas. The staff are all really helpful and nothing appears to be to much trouble even at the busiest times. The restaurant has a great choice of extremely well cooked and presented produce of the highest quality and in our opinion the hotel is a must for any visitor to Lincoln .

Room Tip: In our opinion all rooms will be of excellent quality.

Stayed here as a couple in January 2014 and had a fab time! Was booked as a Christmas present for my boyfriend. Room was lovely, nice size and had everything we needed. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding. Wide selection and all very fresh! Short walk from centre of Lincoln.

We stayed in Room 35 in the converted Church which was a lovely room but be careful in the bathroom as the toilet is under the sloping roof and the bath end is also under the sloping roof. Other than that it was a beautiful room to stay in. The breakfast was not memorable but was acceptable. The staff were delightful and the hotel is directly opposite the Cathedral. Don't worry because the chimes are silent during the night
