Cramped small tables like a transport cafe, indifferent staff. The food was fast food not fresh as claimed. The meal arrived at our table within 10 minutes yet the pasta was overcooked. They just want you in and out quickly. Everything was drowned in a dreadful tasteless tomato sauce that obviously came out of a jar. Bland boring plastic food. Don't go there it is not a good dining experience.

We visited Gino's l'express last night as a group of 4. the restaurant is spotlessly clean with tables nicely spaced out so your not cramped in like in the main Gino's restaurant. We were handed menus and our drinks order was taken whilst we made our choices, music played in the background not loud, just enough to help the ambiance.

The starters arrived all 4 were delicious and portion size was excellent. We had all ordered different main courses and when served they looked mouth watering, my husband said it was the best rump steak he had tasted in a long time, needless to say we all ate well and then decided to have desert. Again we all ordered different items, when they arrived they were all so beautifully presented and were soon demolished. I couldn't fault the selection of dishes on the menu and the presentation of each dish was fabulous.

We finished our meal with coffee/tea and left all agreeing that this was one of the best meals we had had in a long time.

We will definitely be going back

Had a lovely pizza last year when we visited Lincoln for the annual cycle event.
Arrived today for that same event and headed for lunch! When entering it was approx 12.30 and pouring with rain. There were no customers so I asked if they were open? A rather surly young man commented they were only open for people who were eating! We said we wanted lunch and could we sit in the window seats where we enjoyed our pizzas last time we visited! He said we couldn't as that was for people who were drinking in a rather condescending manor! I replied that as they weren't open for drinks there would be no one occupying these seats and we had sat there before! He insisted we couldn't so we left to enjoy our lunch elsewhere!
Surely any eating establishment with customers seated in the window attracts more customers eating or drinking and I find it ridiculous that we weren't welcomed!
If the owners did not want to open on this busy day of the year they should have not bothered instead of offering a rude can't be bothered attitude!
With the competition between businesses in the current financial climate I would imagine all custom would be welcome but apparently not!!!! WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

We were a party of six looking for a meal and were initially pleased to feel welcomed into the lively but not full restaurant. While we were waiting for starters two friends arrived and were given a separate table After our starters the restaurant started to empty and a table for eight became available so we asked if we could move and sit together. This was agreed and the table made ready. They served our two friends' main meals first which was not unexpected as they had not ordered a starter. However the rest of us waited an unacceptable length of time for our main meals. One of our party required twice and was first told they were on their way. The second it was implied the delay was our fault as we had moved tables ~ ridiculous as the chef would presumably not know unless the front of house staff deliberately asked the order of service to be changed. When the food did arrive a chicken dish was tough and a pasta dish barely warm. The staff remained surly, we never received an apology for the delay and they made us feel more of an inconvenience rather than their reason for being there and getting a salary.

We left with mixed feelings. The food was well presented but unfortunately did lack flavour. We had ordered a starter of olives and bread, however this arrived after our mains. There was no apology from the waiter. At the end of the meal I explained that we were unable to eat most of the starter as it was brought out after the main. The waiter did not apologise or make any acknowledge which left us feeling frustrated. We were charged for this starter and therefore made the decision not to leave a tip. Unfortunately the staff did not make us feel welcome or give us an overall enjoyable experience. However our meal did finish on a positive as the coffee was great!
