As a member I really enjoyed my visit. Only niggle the audio tapes needs tweaking, number 2 is a long way away from number 1. also the door at the buttery is now closed.

It is a really good place to visit.

Not much left of it but well worth a quick visit, gives you a good idea of the splendor once available. Great views over the city and a good place to start your tour of this marvalous cathedral quarter.

In all honesty there is not a lot to see, but the narration on the voice guided tour was great. What a privileged existence these ecclesiastical people had.

Tucked out of the way to one side of the cathedral it's easy to miss the palace. The bishop has a somewhat smaller house on the edge of the site, so what we visited was largely a picturesque ruin.

What is left is a set of gardens and terraces, with the foundations of the original buildings and a huge vaulted undercroft.and one incomplete intact tower.

The view of the city are wonderful and who would ave expected a vineyard n the centre of an English Midlands city?

You can borrow an audio guide from the entrance booth, and there is also a modest shop on the site with English Heritage souvenirs and some interesting fruit wines you can sample, alas not from the palace vineyard itself.

As English Heritage members we decided to take a look whilst visiting Lincoln. We took an audio guide and I would strongly recommend this as most of this site is in ruins so listening to the commentary really made the place come alive. We were the only people on the site so we strolled around at leisure and spent over an hour looking at what is a very compact but unusual and interesting site. Recommend.
