“Home from home”
Reviewed 9 December 2012

We have recently returned from yet another fantastic visit to Creston Villa and once again left with huge smiles on our faces! We both no regard this cute Victorian house as a real home-from-home. Myself and my partner Andrew are so comfortable there; the special touches contribute towards making this location feel like home from home.

Location for us was perfect; only a simple 20minute walk into the centre of the city. However, there is a bus that also goes up the guest house as well as local taxis.

One of our main reasons for returning time and time again is due to the incredibly caring nature and frankly great sense of humour that Anna & Iain posses. Their famous locally sourced breakfast will no doubt leave a impressionable mark on your memory and is certainly something we look forward to trying again each time we return.

Each room is themed differently and yet just as perfect as all the others. This visit we stayed in The Attic room which has a great view and allows guests to see the Cathedral out of their window. There's easy access to the internet via a laptop in the main dining area, refreshments including an 'honesty bar'.

Seeing as we visited Lincoln this time for the famous Christmas Market we finished off our festive shopping day lying on our big comfy bed, watching Home Alone on the DVD/TV provided whilst smelling the aroma of fresh Mulled Wine which Anna & Iain had prepared themselves for guests (along with fresh mince pies, stolon & fruit cake). For someone who loves Christmas so so much this was PERFECTION for me.

Well done to two of the nicest people we are ever likely to meet. You clearly work so hard for the success you have already achieved at Creston Villa and we know you ill continue to impress guests for years and years to come.

Room Tip: Personally, we'd advise all guests to try every room; each has a different feel yet equally as s...

Stayed in the Victorian room for our second visit to this lovely guest house. A gorgeous room with its own private bathroom just outside the door, and the friendliness and hospitality of Anna and Iain are second to none. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and good conversation with them while they cook your breakfast.

We stayed to visit the Christmas market, which would have been nice but it was very crowded, cold and unfortunately started raining just as we got to the beginning. The best thing was that Anna and Iain had a big pan of mulled wine, stollen, and mince pies for everyone when we arrived back to the guest house to warm us up. Normally even without these Christmas extras, there is always drinks and snacks left out if you get peckish in the night. We were told that some places were charging £800 a night and can honestly say if we were millionaires and had paid that much, we wouldn`t have been treated as good as we did in this outstanding guest house.

We even had a Christmas present off them left in our room, thank you Anna and Iain and have a lovely Christmas and New Year. Hope to see you sometime in 2013

Marilyn and Gary

(The guest house doesn`t have a swimming pool, pressed by mistake)

Really enjoyed our stay in December 2012. The rooms are immaculate & decorated to a very high standard with beautiful furniture & features. Only a 10 minute walk to the centre. Great choice of breakfasts all cooked fresh to order in front of you (I had smoked salmon with poached egg & boyfriend had full English - good portions & the food was lovely). Would highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed for two nights at the Creston Villa at the end of November 2012. The trip was a present for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The guest house, rooms and facilities were in great condition and extremely clean.
We normally stay at modern larger hotels but wanted to see what extra's a small B and B could offer. We were not disappointed.
We stayed in the Victorian room which was large and light. I loved the kidney shaped dressing table. Anne and Iain were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful cooked in front of you. We were able to use the lounge area to chat in comfort with my parents and the Internet / laptop was invaluable.
This was out first visit to Lincoln and will definitely return. We visited steep hill, the cathedral and some town shops plus Pennalls garden centre, all worth a visit.
We will be back and hopefully when it's warmer outside.

I have traveled many places before but I have to say that this is by far the best place I have ever stayed. Thanks for such a lovely stay and I will be sure to see you again! Breakfast was lovely and you can basically have whatever you want. The couple that own the guesthouse are so friendly and will do anything to ensure that your stay is comfortable. They encourage to to treat it like home - this is particualry good if you are working away from home alot and you want a bit of home comfort when working away from home!

From the moment we arrived in the car park the welcome was there and being Scottish and Ian being a fellow Scot that was even better.

Nothing was too much trouble for mine hosts from home baking to lovely breakfasts and good chats with them and fellow residents.

Room Tip: Room at the back was nice and quiet.
