We recently visited the Spice Lounge as a family. We had made a reservation and on arrival were seated quickly by the restaurant staff on the first floor.
From this point onwards the evening went down hill rapidly. We waited 20 minutes for our first drink. Whilst waiting we browsed the menu which to be fair looked appealing if a little expensive with starters costing 10 to 12 pounds and main dishes ranging from 12 to 18 pounds on average.
Our menu choices were taken and then we waited ................... and waited ................ and waited. After several enquiries to the staff and an hour and a half later our main courses finally arrived however one main dish was missing. The staff did apologise however this dish took a further 15 to 20 minutes to arrive in which time the rice, nan and chips were all cold and it was too far too late.
The curries that did arrive were tasteless and all looked and tasted the same even though there was a great variation in choices. When you are paying these prices for a main dish curry you would expect it to be authentic and of far better quality.
We had children in our party and this was far to long to wait and ended up far to late to eat. We were not the only table who experienced long delays and poor quality of food.
The manager came to our table and a small discount was offered however he was not interested in any of our opinions or views but just wanted us to pay the bill.
This was a real shame as we ended up leaving the food on the table, paying the bill (discounted) and returning to the Hilton Hotel nearby where we were staying and ordering food.
