“We will definately stay again..”
Reviewed 15 February 2010

I travelled to Liverpool with 9 of my friends for 30th birthday celebrations. We wanted somewhere that was reasonably priced near the city centre. When we arrived at Snooze we were told that as they are extending they had a problem with the electrics so one of the rooms we booked didnt have any (we had booked 4 rooms) the hotel asked if we would be willing to use 3 rooms. This wasnt a problem as they provided us with extra beds. The staff were very friendly and easy going. The hotel is very handy for the city centre adn the docks, (£5 in a taxi) the rooms were very nicely decorated, spacious, clean and all had an en suite. There was a bit of noise the next morning but that was roadworks and nothing to do with the hotel. It suited our needs perfectly and we will definately stay again..

I was given one of the new rooms in Snooze and it was perfect for my needs. Spacious, clean, Wi-Fi in the rooms, powerful shower & lovely bathrooms. The owners were friendly and even helped dig the car out of the snow in the car park. Five mins drive from the City Centre (without thick snow!).

Stayed here while over from Beijing for 2 nights in December. Met when we arrived by Richie who was friendly and helpful.
While the hotel isnt in the centre of the city it's only 5 mins in a taxi (about 5pound) and there's a bus stop less than 50 yards away.
The rooms were great value. All the usual amenities and a DVD player to boot! Room had ensuite which was great.
Was told by Richie that they are in control of the building next door as well now and it should add 5 or 6 more rooms to the hotel. Whole time we were there they were working on the rooms and it was no disruption at all.
All in all a great little place that's value for money!
Cheers

The hotel is easy to spot, and the car park is at the rear. You have to drive over a kerb to get to it, but this is apparently due to change.

The manager gave us a warm welcome, and was very helpful.

Buses into the centre (no 79) seemed to come every 10-15 mins, and takes you right into the heart of Liverpool One in a similar time.

Room 1 was very warm, even with the radiator turned down, but the bed was comfortable (although starting to show signs of wear). Opening the window wasn't an option, due to the traffic noise outside (fine with the double glazing closed).

The one problem we experienced with the hotel is the plumbing - the shower quickly went ice cold, and threatened to fall apart. The taps also went cold quickly and we couldn't restore the heat. As we were only staying one night, a quick rinse was fine, but for longer stays this would be very annoying.

Was recommended by a friend, made contact, booked. All very simple and excellent response. Knowing Liverpool well, am aware that Wavertree is not the most salubrious of areas. But also very aware that city centre parking is not only expensive but is not necessarily secure. Snooze has a gated car park so used the bus to get around town. MerseyTravel is spot on, with good value 'Visitor Passes'. Buses every 5 mins up to 8pm make it really easy. Every half hour after 8, all the way to near midnight. The buses go through the centre and finish/start from Paradise Bus Station (Liverpool One Bus station).
Snooze - big, warm room, excellent en-suite with a shower that works well, flat screen Freeview TV/DVD and free Wi-Fi. No hair dryer and, in Room 8, no shaver point in the en-suite. Not a big deal for me but be aware. Comfortable bed though I suspect on the next round of refurb better mattresses might make an appearance. Rooms at the front will have traffic noise if opened.
Very efficient and responsive meet and greet. Lot of info / advice available on what is on on Merseyside.
No on-site breakfast at the moment though I gather when Snooze expands next door a motel type breakfast area is planned - the usual juices, beverages, cereals, toast, fruit etc. No problem - 200 metres up the road on the right an excellent, good value Full English (or what ever you want below that) is there from 7.30 am in a bright, clean, friendly Cafe.
No score given for service because this place is not a service hotel - it is a very clever concept providing quality at an unbeatable price.

snooze is my usual haunt when staying in Liverpool, it's a ways out of town centre, but theres a bus every 5 mins or a £5 taxi ride from town, nice cafe for breakfast nearby and great cheap take aways for evening meals, the hotel offers good value for money when compared to town centre hotels.

Stayed here with my son whilst visiting a University. At first was put off by the front entrance which was just like a shop front, but as they say first impressions can be deceptive. Once inside found a very clean, smart modern large room with modern en-suite with hot shower. Tea and coffee making facilities, TV, clean towels. Excellent value for a budget hotel. Friendly, welcoming proprietor. Next store is an extremely clean respectable cafe serving an excellent breakfast. Will stay there again.
