Owner description: RIBA North is the Royal Institute of British Architects’ National Architecture Centre on Liverpool’s Waterfront. The centre was opened in June 2017 and was recently awarded the title of ‘Best Newcomer to the Visitor Economy’ at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards 2018. It is situated in extremely close proximity to the Open Eye Gallery and Museum of Liverpool, a stone’s throw from the Albert Dock. RIBA North is a place for everyone to discover more about architecture and is an inspirational resource for both RIBA members and the public. Through exhibitions, events and walking tours the centre champions architects, architecture and good design. We have step free access to the main entrance and step free access to the first floor via a lift located at the rear of the ground floor cafe. We also welcome guide dogs. If you have any questions about access, or if you have any special requirements, please contact us before your visit.

As this building relates to architecture I must say I do like this modern building. On enter I must admit some of the exhibits leave me cold. Nice cafe as well.

Visited RIBA North to show a friend the model of the city and to see the Liverpool Biennial exhibition Hack the Root. Hack the Root may be a bit obscure but if you're in the area and interested in innovative building materials its worth a look. If you do go watch the video as it explains the how the mycelium panels are made.

Lived most of my life in Liverpool but got to see quite a few places I've never seen before round the back of Hope Street. Terry our guide had the perfect mix of great information without information overload. The pace was just right. Will definitely do another RIBA tour next time we are back in Liverpool

Two of us went on this tour today - really relaxed and absolutely brimming with information... fantastic afternoon visiting a fantastic city..
Brian was a perfect guide - full of pride, information and laughs... learnt so much in such a short time but didn't feel rushed at all...even enjoyed some of the more modern buildings..honest...
I 100% recommend this tour and cannot wait to do the others available..
Thanks Brian.
