We eat here last night having stumbled upon it by chance, on what seemed a very quiet night elsewhere. Inside was buzzing ! Great and typical Italian decor.
Waiting staff were friendly , helpful , but a bit rushed in their delivery. We have found this in nearly all Italian restaurants, so it seems a bit "wheel 'em in - wheel 'em out " . However, when we slowed the pace...they were fine .
Food was seemingly very good...we enjoyed the meal. The wine was a bit expensive, so we chose the second cheapest and it was very nice ( but at £21.90 ! ). I had the mushrooms in a filo basket , which were tasty but a bit oily. I then followed with the Scallops Gratin....lovely taste and tender, but on closer inspection they seemed a little under-cooked ( a bit blue and opaque in colour) which wasn't easy to detect because of the cheese sauce.
The meal was expensive in comparison to others , at £93 for two (inc tip) for two courses, wine and coffees, plus a Cointreau . We didn't feel it was worth that much , frankly.
Unfortunately , I had a severe reaction the following morning ( no details needed !!! ) which may have been indicative of my reservations about the scallops...but fair's fair ....we had eaten elsewhere during our 3 day stay...so nothing proven. My partner's meal was fine and no adverse reaction afterwards.
All in all....it was ok....fun , friendly and busy atmosphere in comfortable surroundings...bit pricey though.
