“Great stay again”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Both my partner and myself have stayed at Newsham on New Years Eve night and the weekend just gone. Great service, can't do enough for you, breakfast great. There are a lack of personal guest houses in Liverpool and this one certainly hits the spot. Would definately stay again! xxx

This is a great guesthouse, with great service, realy good breakfast and nice rooms. The staff is superb, friendly and serviceminded. Great cellar with Liverpol FC themes. Bring your drinks. Five minutes walk to Anfield, lots of pubs and restaurants close by. I have been at this guesthouse several times, with family and friends. Both kids and grownups love this place. In the Newsham Park, 3 min. walk away, you can fish, play football or do other activities, you also do find a great playground here, for the youngest kids. Bus stop outside the guesthouse, 7 minutes to the city centre. Great gym 5 minutes walk away.

This guest house in on a fairly busy residential road in the Kensington district of Liverpool. I thought it was good value for an en-suite room, but everything seemed adequate rather than good. I was awoken by some of the neighbours having a row in the street in the small hours. Perhaps a room at the back would be quieter. There is a bus every 5 minutes to central Liverpool - it is a circular route so you can wait on either side of the road and cross over if you see one coming the other way! It runs every 30 mins each way in the evenings. Liverpool has some great historic pubs - try the Philharmonic on Hope Street for magnificent splendour!

Me and my friends stayed for one night, when we arrived we were greeted and the owner was very pleasent, he looked after us and had a sense of humour too :). The room was lovely and warm and very clean, plenty of tea and coffee to hand aswell :) would of liked a lock on the bathroom door though !!. The breakfast was lovely also the ladies who served us it. People who have wrote bad reviews about this place i am wondering is this the same place ?? all the staff were friendly with us, and for a small price of 25 pounds aswell !!. My friends and i would deffinatley stay there again if we have a night out in Liverpool in the future, without a doubt.

After reading the not very nice reviews that had been posted on here, i must be honest i was a little worried about staying at the Newsham Guest House. My sister and her partner and my partner and myself were all booked into the Newsham Guest House for a Beatles weekend. We were met by Lorraine who was the manager of the B&B and who, we all thought was a gem and was lovely. she made us feel really welcome and was really friendly. She showed us to our room and gave us all the info wirh regards to breakfast times etc... Our rooms were lovely and clean, my partner and me had a huge room with loads of beds in it, the decor was nice and the bathroom, although small, was plenty big enough for our needs.
Downstairs there was a games room, all decorated in a Liverpool style dressing rooms, with loads of different memorabilia on the walls, equipped with a kareoke machine, pool table, football table and TV and DVD. It was right in the basement of the house so you didnt really hear any noise from it, well we didnt anyway.
The location of the B&B is in Kensington, and although it isn't one of the poshest parts of Liverpool, the guest house was lovely. On both nights we got a cab and it didnt cost anymore than 5 pounds, and the taxi drivers were all really lovely and friendly.
This was our first ever trip to Liverpool, and we would definitely go back and stay at the Newsham.
Lorraine, if you do read this, Dave and Loxi say thanks for their extra sausages : 0 )
