“Nice Hotel, Friendly Staff, Very Good Value”

I always stay here when in Liverpool. This hotel would cost around 300 GBP/night if it were in London. Free internet. Only drawback is breakfast which is outsourced from a local shoppe and then delivered in the morning , thus if your order isn't in by 9pm the preceding night, no dice. Not a big thing for me though.

Just spent two nights here and we were very impressed - excellent service from the friendly staff, really comfortable, large room, in the city centre near lots of bars and clubs and yet not a sound disturbed us and we were there on a Friday night after LFC won a match 5-1!
For the price you don't expect luxury extras but this really has all you need for a short stay: fridge, kettle, shampoo and shower gel, hairdryer, TV, free wifi and some welcome if unused extras like a microwave and safe. Maybe an iron, biscuits and some freeview chanels would make it even better but who wants to iron or watch telly when you're in Liverpool anyway?!
No restaurant but loads of excellent cafes just round the corner in Bold Street - the Bold Street Cafe our personal favourite - so no problem about breakfast and ditto for dinner - ttry the excellent Lunya, a Catalan tapas restaurant down the road where you get 20% discount on the food. Also ideally located for Lime Street station, Liverpool 1 shops and river front.
We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, young or old (we are in the 'mature couple' category, by the way) and it will definitely be our first choice when in Liverpool, which is quite often because it's such a great place to visit. Boss.

Room Tip: The superior double seems to be a good option - giant bed!

Dear Frank
Thank you for your kind comments about base2stay Liverpool. I was very pleased to read that you felt the room to be comfortable and large. We don’t offer facilities guests frequently neither need nor use but rather pride ourselves on offering a hotel where the price you pay when you check out is the price you expected to pay when you checked in. We do in fact have over 40 Freeview channels, as well as films at only £1.95 each plus a free music library, games and internet (in case you don’t have your laptop with you) all on our HD TVs, as well as free WiFi throughout the hotel. Irons and ironing boards can be delivered to your room on request. I am glad you enjoyed your stay in the hotel and that Liverpool FC won impressively! I was also pleased that during your visit you managed to take advantage of the one of the many discount vouchers that are available from our reception for some of the top restaurants in Liverpool and I do hope we have the opportunity of welcoming you back to base2stay in the very near future.

Regards

Need a place to stay for a night on business in Liverpool. Found this place on the web. Looked good and lived up to expectations. Modern, simple but stylish in style. Room and bathroom all very clean. I had a single room - £49. Bed was actually a size inbetween single and double... and plenty of length for all 6ft4 of me. Free wireless, decent TV and great little Kitchenette that meant I could go grab a cheap meal from Tesco and cook in the microwave. Similarly, stored some breakfast in the fridge... saved paying the normal exorbitant price for it at a hotel! Had little need for anything but staff on reception were very friendly and welcoming, check in and out was done very efficiently.

Would definitely recommend.

Dear Simon W
Thank you for this review. I am pleased that, as a busy businessman, you benefited from our mini – kitchen, with its microwave and fridge, which, after the demands of a long day, allow you to bring your dinner or breakfast to your room and relax with our 40 Freeview channels or browse the movie library at only £1.95 per film. As well as free Nespresso coffee in reception, we can also arrange breakfast delivery to your room and we can recommend dinner delivery services to suit your needs, some with exclusive discounts for base2stay guests. Our super singles with their 4ft beds and rates from £49 are very popular with a lot of our travellers looking for a comfortable room at a budget price, but we also have a range of larger room types to suit every budget. We look forward to welcoming you to back to base2stay on your next business or leisure trip and would be happy to show you our range of room types, if you have time.

Regards

Stayed here for the Liverpool Newcastle game on the 30th of December. For the price, I found the rooms good value given the central location and high level of cleanliness. The reception staff were really helpful and knowledgable. All in all, I'll stay here when I visit Liverpool again.

This hotel gets better with every stay.
They just know how to get it right. Excellent customer service, excellent location with large, gorgeous rooms with huge king size bed. Everything you could ever want from a city centre hotel. I would not stay anywhere else. if your making a trip to Liverpool or just looking for someone to stay after a night out you should not go anywhere else. can't rate this hotel highly enough

Room Tip: Deluxe room for the most spacious, comfortable room.

We stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate a friends 40th birthday in Liverpool. I have stayed in their other base2stay in Kensington and that was a great experience also.
The room we were in was a standard double but if staying again i would opt to upgrade to a larger room.
The room is comfortable new and has all the amenities that you may need. The small kitchenette is great We made bacon butties both mornings and brought our own coffee and a small carton of milk. Talking of coffee the free coffee in the lounge area is a great idea.
The hotel is very secure and modern.
You are literally on the doorstep of Liverpool one and all the other city centre attractions. there are plenty of bars and eating places within walking distance and the hotel offers discount on some of them.
We ate at the Cuban and then in china town in the Jumbo but i will separately review these.
One really good thing about this hotel is that although there is no bar we brought wine (Tesco 2 mins away) and sat with our friends in the lounge area.
every member of staff that we met without exception showed us the highest level of customer service. They all took the time and trouble to explain things and were on hand to offer advice about the area.
There is parking at Q parks and you get a voucher for this from the hotel bringing the price down to £9.50 for every 24 hours. You are very central though so the train or coach could be an option.
if we had a criticism it is that due to health and safety the windows cannot be opened. even though there is efficient air con / heating it can get stuffy.
nice place to stay don't hesitate to book and don't be put off by the area just around it.

Room Tip: I would next time upgrade for a larger space but that is just my personal preference
