A great value hotel right in the heart of the city! If you are looking to explore Liverpool during the day, and try out nice restaurants and bars, then this is definitely the place to stay. Even though you are in the heart of all of the bars, I didn't hear a thing and slept like a log!!! Also one of the few places with a triple room, which was the main reason we chose it on this occasion.

Stayed here for bank holiday weekend and couldn't fault it, ok the rooms aren't massive but unless your chasing each other around the room there won't be a problem. A massive bed and a great shower is enough for me. There's a small kitchenette behind sliding doors so that it's not intrusive and a fridge to cool your beer/wine etc. Plenty hanging space and plenty of plug sockets in the right places.... great for when the wifes got the hairdryer and straighteners on. Iron and ironing board available at front desk as is a free coffee machine. Well secure having to use the key card to go everywhere.
2 minutes from the nightlife and about 5 from the shopping at Liverpool 1. Enjoy. ... we did : )

Stayed at Base2Stay for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Liverpool is a fantastic city and the hotel's location is perfect. £15-20 each way for a cab to/from the airport and takes about 15/20 mins.

Turned up at the hotel very early, before 9am and didn't expect to be allowed to check in just wanted to drop off luggage but our room was ready so checking in so early was a great first impression. The room (11) was on the ground floor but felt safe as the windows didn't open, which might be an issue for some but I didn't mind. There was no outside noise from traffic or anything but the room is located right beside reception so from early in the morning it can be noisy but not so much that it would ruin the stay.

The rooms are basic enough but not totally budget. The beds are very comfy although there was make up on the sheet that wasn't mine which was the only major bad thing about the hotel.

The price was reasonable for what you got, definitely cheaper than staying in London. The breakfast was extra and from what I read on other reviews didn't seem like my type of breakfast so we didn't go for it but there are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby to get breakfast.

The hotel has no restaurant or bar but that didn't bother us as we wanted to go out for dinner and hotels are always more expensive for food anyway.

The location is AMAZING. On first glance it is a bit off putting as it seems to be down a side street but its a safe area, never had any issues. When you come out the hotel door turn left and there are loads of bars (definitely recommend Alma de Cuba, a bar in an old church). Turn right and walk straight for 2 mins and there are plenty of shops.

The hotel is also a 10 minute walk to Albert Docks which has plenty of restaurants, the Liverpool Big Wheel and the Beatles museum, all worth a visit.

I will definitely return to Base2Stay Liverpool and will also stay at one of their London hotels on my next trip!

Hi and thanks for your thoughtful comments. We will take on board all the points that you made, the good and as well as the not so good ones . I can see that you truly enjoyed everything about our hotel and as importantly, Liverpool. Apologies for the make up in the room, this is quite unusual and our housekeeping team doesn’t want to have to read any similar comments so will be vigilant! I hope you took advantage of our discounts for both breakfast, lunch and dinner at the many great restaurants (including Alma) that surround us. As you rightly mentioned, hotel restaurants can be expensive and keep you inside instead of exploring the local area, which is such a wonderful aspect of Liverpool. We really hope to see you again in one of our hotels.

Booked interconnecting rooms for a family visit. Rooms were immaculate and set up as a king size and twin beds. Staff were friendly and helpful. TV & free wifi. Good armed forces discount offered. Rooms each have microwave, kettle, fridge and plates etc, so very family friendly. Location good for waterfront, on a slightly rough looking road. Continental breakfast was a weird combination of cornflakes, yoghurt, pain au raisin and (more positively) organic apple and pear juice. Would have liked a healthier option. Air con was only adjustable 1 degree either way - it was comfortable for most people but a bit chilly for me at night.
