Every time I have stayed in Liverpool, I always get a hotel right beside Albert Dock, Simply because i love to wake up in the morning and head down to the dock. It's so relaxing. There's also several places you can go for breakfast & lunch.

Albert dock is literally across the road from Liverpool One, so 10 minute walk from the city center. There are lots of little souvenir shops & some fantastic sweet shops. If you get a chance call into the slave museum as well! A great place to go and grab a coffee.

I am impressed with what the Albert Docks have become. At first I thought it was a new structure, but I was told it is actually quite historic. It no longer has dock workers unloading cargo as in decades past, but in place there are numerous shops and coffee houses that offer a much more scenic experience than the contemporary shopping centre. There is no fee, but I don't think anyone can escape without parting with money in one of the shops (I couldn't).

Also a few museums to visit while there, making a perfect attraction to an unplanned afternoon.

Just love how this place has been renovated into a lively attraction, great places to eat and hang out and for me to take morning runs...always love visiting the Docks.

Prices not good for tourists, bring extra cash or be clever, quayside bars and cafes very trendy, views are superb. Very easy going, liverpool people friendly as always

Not sure of exact date of visit, but the highlight was seeing the duck, which unfortunately sank the week after our visit.
